Has anyone heard any news from any patients that participated or are participating in the CLARITY-1 Trial?

I would be curious to know if any of the trial participants have tinnitus and if they had any reduction. Or is tinnitus something that would have disqualified people from participating?

Please don't turn this thread into a mess like the pinned AUT00063 thread.

Thank you!

Is there a reason why they just go right on ahead with Phase 2 without posting the results for Phase 1? It seems almost so 'cloak and dagger' cept without the dagger.

If Yo-Han is right, then I see a recurring problem.

I was at a TRT centre today. On the coffeetable I found a magazine about hearing disorders. I read an article about the research that is going on at the moment. They mentioned AUT00063 and I read something that I found quite interesting.

They wrote that AUT00063 targets the kv3.1 channels because these channels become less active as people age. I found this quite interesting because a couple of times the question was raised why Autifony targets the kv3.1 channels and not the kv7 channels. Anyway, I don't think I read this anywhere else on the forum so I thought I'd share. Unfortunatly I cannot present a source, I forgot the name of the magazine and it was not a scientific article anyway.

Yes it was discussed and dissected on the Autifony thread - Kv7 is more of Trobalt action mechanism....but since Aut00063 was scrapped, the research has come to a complete halt. There is no point to discuss these Kv3.1 channels anymore....There is nothing even on the horizon in terms of a drug to relieve tinnitus.
TRT is the best humanity can do for us.
I think there is only ONE tinnitus researcher who is capable to come up with some form of pill for tinnitus, and that's Prof.Tsounouopopoloususees.....sorry I dont know to spell his name. But he only in pre pre pre preliminary stage of research lol

people going to start living in the moon 10 or 20 years by now and tinnitus and hyperacusiss NOTHING.
Na. We decided against living on a useless moon and are now planning on Mars as a long term living area. This will only cost multi billions of dollars!! We do like to spend tons of money on new frontiers but tinnitus??? Na. It doesn't get spread around like some disease . Save the money for throw away rocket engines.................

You don't have tinnitus you have either pulsatile throbbing, ear bone spasms, damage from loud music, cochlear hydrops, or cervical spine damage. You need to go into your brain and figure out what caused your noises and make peace with the underlying reason, then stop that underlying cause. But if you just go "hey fix my tinnitus" there's no chance because only you know your history .

I would not hold my hopes up for Clarity 1 - it is just like the last convulsions before death as the company goes bankrupt.
Anyone know when the data of this trial will be released? Looks like Phase II was completed June 2016.
I think the clarity 1 trial was a flop
It indeed was not successful, thanks @DebInAustralia for checking it out further.

Below is a snippet from Autifony's staff:

Attached is the news release about our trial results. Unfortunately our drug, AUT00063, did not show a beneficial effect on age related hearing loss, although it was safe and well tolerated.

Clearly these results were disappointing, and we are continuing to analyse the data in detail. We will publish more about our findings in due course, as this is the first time that a pharmaceutical has been tested in such a clinical trial for age related hearing loss, we learned a great deal from carrying out this study and hope that some of it can be useful for future research in this field.
