Cause of Tinnitus
Who am I kidding, its got to be noise :/
Hi guys, hope everyone is hanging in there despite everything.

I have reached what I consider to be the end of the road. In the (almost) 1.5 years since my acoustic trauma nothing has helped. I am considering the following two options and would like to hear your opinion on them.

1. Autologous Stem Cells (extracted from bone marrow). I am considering a treatment of autologous stem cells, atheedgeofschience has documented his journey extensively and has been a great resource for the community. I have been reading his threads and it looks promising. However, as with all things tinnitus there is conflicting evidence and treatments don't always for for everyone.

What do you think of this study: https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC5894491/
The results are somewhat disappointing

2. Low Light Laser Therapy, does it make sense after 1.5 years? Which laser is the best and are there any inherent risks? I've read through countless threads of mixed results, is there a general consensus on this?

3. Has CBD oil or any kind of derivative provided relief or regenerative effects for inner ear disorders?

4. Any other somewhat radical options that I could be considering?

Thank you for your time :)

Stem Cells
Did not work for me. It may/may not for you. I believe if your cause is not acoustic related, you have a better chance.
Low Light Laser Therapy
Seems rather implausible to me that this actually works. I'm yet to see any real evidence in a clinical setting suggesting it does either.

I would look at methods or talk to your doctor about medications to remove your axiety as that's the core of your problem.

Thanks for the reply! If you don't mind sharing, could you elaborate on what kind of stem cell treatment you had, how long it lasted and if there were any side effects?

Thank you!

- 150 million embryonic mesenchymal stem cells
- 2 weeks for treatment
- no side effects for me, but your results may vary :)

how were the stem cells applied? I heard a new research from Japan that a different application of the stem cells had better chance to help?

Are you talking about Kyoto and applying cells directly on the glial scar? Because that research is super promising to me. Possibly we could regrow spinal ganglion nerves with that.

Kind of also explains why other stem cell treatments don't seem all that effective yet.
