Balloon Popped 1 Meter from Me — Should I Go to A&E and Ask for Prednisolone?

A balloon popping is about 120 decibels. Since you had earplugs in, it was probably reduced to around 90 decibels, so you should be safe. Brief exposure to 90 decibels shouldn't cause permanent damage. Although hearing a sudden loud noise like that so close to your ear is frightening.

No. Its still early days for you. Every sound like that will feel like its doing damage, but it isn't that its doing further damage, its the terror of hearing and re-hearing the damage now present that causes the distress.
