Hello all! Hope you're all doing well. I haven't been on the site in ages because I was able to beat my tinnitus, still have it but I hardly ever notice it.

I'm here asking for my partner, they have been complaining of ringing in one ear, sometimes it's both but it changes ears from time to time.
The longest it lasts is 30 seconds.

It mainly gets triggered when she is bending down, she loses balance sometimes and feels dizzy.

Anyone know what kind of tinnitus this is?

Thank you for your time.

How did you beat your T?

I hear it at night but I learn through meditation to ignore it and over time the volume dropped down. I make sure in loud environments to have plugs. Sometimes I say " My T isn't that loud" over and over again when im laying in bed. I eventual found it wasn't as loud I have had it for 2 years now and for 6 months I even forgot about it.

Try not to focus on it. Its how I beat it.

@ Knightofknots How about during downntime such as reading, watching TV or working with computer? Do you actually not hear it when you say you are hardly aware of T? If you do hear it, does it not interfere?

Is this something they get only a few times a day or a week? Is it usually in one ear, a clear, pure tone, very loud, that comes on suddenly then fades in a few seconds (maybe with a "residue" that remains for a few minutes or a hour)?

If so, this is most likely to be fleeting tinnitus (google it). It is a normal thing, experienced by the vast majority of the population. It does not indicate that your partner is going to get chronic tinnitus. It requires no treatment and no worry :)
