I'm trying to find a DEFINITIVE answer on the absolute best noise-reducing earplugs. I got some Etymotic's before I realized their NRR is quite modest. The biggest threat to my tinnitus spikes are from people slamming weights at the gym. I've taken 3 days off now and the cumulative recovery has been such that I'm scared of stepping back into the gym without the strongest support available.
I need the BEST NRR earplug—no matter the cost, customization or disposability. I will likely be getting gun muffs to wear in-between sets, and take them off when I actually begin performing.
From what I've gathered, these look to be the best for my particular situation? Or should they have a higher baseline NRR across the board? Thanks in advance!

I use several:
Howard Leight MAX-1 for the most protective.
Mack's Ultra for almost as protective and the most comfortable.
3M UltraFit for a less protective, but still very good reusable option. I find these easier and faster to put in and use them for short activities like running the paper shredder for example.
Avantek musician plugs for less protective situations, like a supermarket.
They are costlier, but definitely worth the investment, and they last a long while.

After buying, you get a voucher with which you can go and have your ear impressions made.
There are other brands available too (Etymotic, Elacin, Westone, etc), but they're pretty much in the same price bracket.
I looked for custom molded earplugs, these one's look like the best option to me:

They are called decibullz and you can mold them yourself.
"EASY SHAPE SYSTEM: Simply heat the Decibullz thermoplastic molds in boiling water, let them cool for a bit, and shape them to your ears. That's it, and If you don't get the perfect fit the first time Decibullz are the only custom earplugs that are re-moldable."
They offer 31 decibel protection which is quite high.
I'm working in a loud factory and i'm looking for earplugs with high level of protection. Normal foam earplugs are kind of rubbish for that purpose.
