Best Treatment for Eustachian Tube Inflammation/Clogging?

Was prescribed Flonase and Mucinex D, but not sure how those would help. ENT said my hearing is perfect, no fluid, no infection, but it could be ET inflammation. Left ear clicks/pops a lot this past week and feels a bit swollen.

Is the Flonase/Mucinex D a good idea, or do you guys know a better way? Thank you!!

Rhinocort helped me a lot. I had tested lots of other NSs but this one was great. Ask your ENT if you are gonna give it a go. Eucalyptus steam inhalation also helped me a lot.
If it has anything to do with your ETs it is ETD not noise damage.

Best is to go to a steam bath with a bottle of eucalyptus drops.

To do at home, you can boil water in a large pot, take it off the stove and place it on a piece of wood so you don't damage a table or floor. Then put your head over the pot, with a towel over your head. The towel is like a small tent to catch the steam. Careful not to burn yourself. It is really easy and works a charm.

How much Eucalyptus would you put? I did that once with Tea Tree oil, but only did like 4 drops because Tea tree is strong. But I'm guessing I'd put a lot more for Eucalyptus?

No special device! I just put one eucalyptus leaf in water and let it boil and then cover up my head and breathe through the nose. It might burn you if it's too hot be careful about that.

Yes, exactly.

Where I live it's cheap, two dollars with special leaves for aroma.

Back where I grew up, in Boston, I joined the YMCA. It was affordable, and I have always found saunas and steams relaxing and good for health. With ETD I think it will help loosen and clear out mucus and help open things up. Try and get some essential oils from a health food shop, eucalyptus is excellent. Don't over do it, it will sting your eyes.

Try at home as I suggested, you may have to reheat the pot a few times.

I used the word "mucus", not Joshua12345. The young man just wanted to try a steam bath and see if it helped......easy does it. There is no harm in the guy having a steam bath.....regardless if he has hidden hearing loss.

His ENT said his hearing is perfect and Joshua himself says it is not noise induced. Steam baths are a good way to detoxify and help promote well being and calmness...these are good things for a tinnitus sufferer, and if his problem really does originate from ETD it may just help. I respect your point and Joshua12345 should certainly take your advice onboard and pursue having the ENT using an otoscope to get a proper diagnosis.

Regardless, the dude wants to have a steam bath... let him try and see if it helps, he may have to wait months for an appointment and may be uninsured and broke like myself. Peace out.

Is Flonase a corticosteroid? I was prescribed it. But I have some other issues I'm dealing with related to immune system, so steroids (which suppress the immune system) might not be a great option. Not sure :/

Hey Joshua. Yes Flonase is of the steroid class. I guess that your doctor prescribed it to you and that he/she is already aware of your concerns over your immune system's issue. If not, your doctor is the appropriate person to discuss over the matter. Maybe the dosage taken nasally is not sufficient to cause issues, compared with a steroid taken orally. But that is only my personal assumption. Speak with your doctor. I hope that you have already experienced an improvement.
