Hi Guys

I'm no newbie to tinnitus. Had it bad for over 5 years, Been through torture with it. Been on all sorts of meds and done a mindfulness course. It's gotten worse with time but I've adapted and survived.
But now, past few days it has gone to a whole new level which I didn't think was possible. I have a cascade of high piched sounds that I can not mask. Fallen back into insomnia, distress and feeling depressed and very anxious. Don't know what to do. I've learnt how to manage it getting worse over time but how can I manage this new level? It feels like it has at least doubled in volume with more frequencies just out of the blue. Like I said, I'm quite a hardened T sufferer but this beyond a joke. Any advice welcome from other such T sufferers.

Hi,
It sounds that you have had a spike and added sounds and could easy be a ear infection brewing or a virus .
These can set you back with all the unwanted feelings that come flooding back what you felt at the beginning.
You have done great coping with your tinnitus and you know you will cope again.
Lots of treats, relaxation, long soaks in the bath, relaxing music,a glass of something nice, lovely smelly stuff on as the sense of smell is a great distraction.

Hope by the weekend your tinnitus starts to calm down for you...lots of love glynis

Thanks for the advice Glynis. I hope it settles down a bit or that I can adjust to this level of noise.
By the way, nice to see you on this forum. I remember you from when I used to visit the BTA forum.

Since the spike it has been up and down. Today is horrendous. Guess that's why I'm on the forum today. It's very changeable these days. A couple of days ago, I was with my family, out and about and stuff and it didn't bother me. It was quieter than usual. Last night, it was so crazy loud, I couldn't sleep. Proper screaming, blasting away. Such a horrid condition.
