What a way to begin the 4th of July festivities. Big quake felt here on the Southern California coast this morning and lasted a long time. News reports stating it was a 6.6.

No damage thankfully just things falling off shelves. It was a weird quake more like a rolling sensation for several minutes and the light fixtures violently swinging back and forth. Walls creaking. Doors shaking.

Yikes!!

This is one thing that freaks me out for a long time.

Back in 1994 we lost our apartment building to the Northridge quake. It was totally demolished as was most of the freeway overpasses and stuff.

I often wonder what it must be like for a person with tinnitus (and maybe hyperacusis also) to live in a place where earthquakes and tornadoes happen. I would hate to live in Tornado Alley, with tinnitus and hyperacusis... those things can be deafening... never experienced one, but I read a lot about them.
