First post, thankyou for this site

so end of 2015 I started getting episodes of dizziness, sudden quick movements and looking around quickly brought on sensations as if you are drunk but without the happy rush of it, a trip to the doctor and I come out with some dissolving tablets because I have labrinthitus (spelling)

soon after I start with a blocked ear its only my right ear and feels like your falling thru the sky at 100mph kind of a dull white noise sound, it stops and starts and get good days and bad days I can get ear ache sometimes and headaches.

Iv no idea if the 2 are working together to destroy me but im on cinnarizine which seems to help with the dizzy ness. on 2 occasions now iv been told to stop the tablets and the dizziness has returned after 10 weeks but the ear problems stay

iv had numerous doctors look in my ear and tell me they cannot see anything, the last 4 days have been awful. I started with the dizziness again 5 days ago and iv been so tired im dropping off asleep at my desk at qork. and yesterday (so sorry to say this) out of nowhere I actually well..............soiled myself it was from nowhere as if I had no control

im scheduled for an apt at the hospital at the ENT department for a hearing test, but im really worried its going to come back there is no issue, as I say somedays its fine and I just know on that particular day it will be fine unlike today where its really bad

is it normal to have the blocked ear and the dizziness? I had no flu when this all started it just came from nowhere

It's to early to tell but ENT can check you out for Menieres and other ear problems.
Your doctor can try you on medication you can take everyday to help stop the attacks of dizziness.
Betahistine,Proclorperazine and Buccastem can help you.
..lots of love glynis

Your symptoms do sound pretty typical of labyrinthitis. I know someone that had it years ago from shingles breaking out in the side of their head and headaches, sickness, diarrhoea, ear pain, hearing loss and blurred vision all occurred. It took months to fully resolve and they were sadly left with mild hearing loss on the affected side - luckily though and I say this as a tinnitus sufferer, they were not left with permanent tinnitus and more than 10 years on, it has not returned.

I for one would far rather have slight hearing loss in one ear than tinnitus. I hope yours resolves itself soon.

thankyou for the replies, yes I hope the fact it comes and goes is a positive sign.

in regards the dizziness. these cinnarizine stop it, I may have to accept im going to be on them for the long haul

Hi! I am so sorry you are going through this. I have had Tinnitus for almost 4 years. I came back from a cruise in October, which was not as relaxing as I had wished, anyway. I always have horrible ear pain while flying. I think I have issues with my eustachian tubes. Since that flight I have had constant crackling, popping sound in my ears when I move my jaw. I have tinnitus in my right ear. So after in December I had a bad sinus infection and started having vertigo/dizziness. I read on here that bioflavinoids helped someone with vertigo. I have been taking them for almost a month at 1,000 mg. They work, my vertigo is gone, but not my tinnitus. I bought them on amazon for $11 I think. Best of luck to you! I hope you find some relieve.
