For those who don't have T from N.E., I don't know but braces do move teeth and irritate nerves so I'm wondering if braces, even at an earlier age, contributed to T? Just a thought...

Idk its deff possible. I know mine wasnt caused by that, but has anyone had T from noise and then got braces with no increase?

That's an interesting question, in my case i had braces 5years ago for a period of 3years, and what i do notice is that in the 5years since my braces have been gone, that my teeth have slowly have gone back to their starting position, not fully, but they are definitely wrongly aligned and i do have some occlusion. That said i think it could aggravate/cause? TMJ dysfunction, which in turn could aggravate/cause? T. Also dental nerves could in theory cause T too, i was checked for that by my dentist, but she also said it's very unlikely, and you would surely notice an inflammation of the nerve, before it reached the stage in which it "could" cause T.

Would be interesting to see everybody respond to the vote. Bear in mind people like me only clicked this thread because I did have braces, though I do consider myself representative for many things, the vote might not reflect that much :)

My theory is if you have pre-existing low tinnitus, any allergies or inflammation within the cranial region that neighbor your auditory nerves then your more likely to have an increased T volume. It seems I get pulsating T from allergies. I can also change the sound by moving my jaw. So there's got to be something bc why do some with hearing loss don't get T? I can live with loss a lot better than T.
