Cause of Tinnitus
ENT inflammation
Dear All,

This is my second post, but I wanted to quickly ask: Can minor inflammation cause the endless ringing I've had for a week now?

I went to the doctor yesterday and I have no audio damage and all he could sense was minor nose inflammation that may be irritating my eustachian tubes/causing dysfunction.

That seems so odd to me that this would be possible... but I hope once that it's resolved this ringing will go away. He said I need to wait 2 months to know... ugh.

Feel free to let me know your experiences in this matter.

Sincerely,
Dee W.

Hi @Dee Willikers I am in a similar situation.

have you seen an ENT? have they put the camera up your nose?

I have had issues since Jan 2019 x

Yes I think it's possible and is probably related to mine. I have had major nose inflammation since June from psoriasis, allergies, and blood thinners. I subsequently developed an ulcer on my septum in my right nostril last August or so that has not healed still. The ENT calls it inflammation. My tinnitus started after all of this and I am convinced they are connected. I started Tremfya in December hoping for an end to this nightmare (the nasal inflammation and hopefully the tinnitus as a by product), but it hasn't helped it yet.

This is my first post.my pulsatile tinnitus started in November with a blocked ear, went to docs after 2 weeks said bad ear infection, antibiotics for 5 days,no change in tinnitus or hearing.docs again was given a nasal spray.back again and a antibiotic ear spray.still no change.I was finally referred to ENT.
Had hearing test, slightly down.ears clear.put tubes down nose and said I have a swelling and referred for CT scan and biopsy.had the scan Sunday now waiting for biopsy.so anxious.has anyone else had biopsy.

Even neck and jaw issues can cause tinnitus. Pretty much the whole head is connected when it comes to the auditory system.

So yes, tinnitus can be a symptom of nose inflammation.

Was suppose to go for my biopsy thursday.but had a letter.which said they have had a look at ct scan and there are no concerning features, but it does show swelling in post nasal space.
Radiologist suggested getting a MRI scan to further delineate this.due to this I have cancelled your surgery and will be in touch when I have MRI to hand.
Don.t no if I should be worried or if will still need biopsy after MRI.(which I have got this saturday.)
