Hi!
So I have read that nicotine can affect tinnitus. But my question is if it can worse the tinnitus permanently, or is it only temporary? Because it didn't appear in the text...

I'd imagine that chronic consumption of lots of tobacco over a period of time might have long term repercussions; I don't think very infrequent smoking is likely to be much worse than walking down the street by car fumes...

Is it the "smoke" that cause this or the nicotine? Because in my country (Sweden), we have something called snus, a tobacco-product that you put under your lips. Then you don't get the smoke, only the nicotine

tobacco has a bunch of carcinogens in it, as well as beta-carboline monoamine oxidase inhibitors and nicotine. I suspect that any of these things has the potential to trigger or worsen hearing problems.

edit: that said, I smoke a tobacco pipe about 20 times a year

Okey! Has the tinnitus increased after that for you? :)
