Can Tinnitus Cause Headaches?

I have "noise reduction" earplugs in a draw at home and haven't used them in over two years. I go about my daily affairs: police, ambulance, and fire truck sirens have passed me regularly and I have never had to cover my ears. I will admit, whenever I'm out walking on the street and I see a workman using a Kango/concrete breaker digging up the road, I keep a wide berth. I am amazed when I see some of these people using such equipment and not using ear defenders! [...] I regularly listen up to 65 decibels peek, and occasionally 70db without any problems.

I am not a person to over protect or even wear ear plugs outside. If I hear a noise that is loud, i'll cover my ears. For me this works and I don't usually get spikes from it.

Hoping I can get back to such a level of stable tinnitus... I feel like since I developed severe hyperacusis (which is luckily slowly getting better) I'm back to square one as my tinnitus spikes all the time.

Hi @Autumnly

Have you seen a Hearing Therapist or Audiologist about your tinnitus and hyperacusis? If you are quite comfortable with your tinnitus and it is sensitivity to sound (Hyperacusis) which is the main concern. Wearing white noise generators alone might help. Ideally they should be used alongside counselling but as I say, if you're able to cope with the tinnitus WNG might help to desensitize your auditory system, they should help the tinnitus too.

Headaches and tinnitus can be migraine related and you can have visual problems with it.
This is exactly what I've been dealing with lately and what coincided with my noise-induced spike. It all started with ocular pressure and blurry vision, seemingly from stress. I wonder if it's connected.
