Capsules for Stem Cell Regeneration?

I have looked into stem cells before to treat joint issues and they are usually injected into the joint directly. While I was reading the thread by at the edge of science, I believe his stem cells were injected somewhere in his body and they made the changes in his auditory locations. For this reason, would it be possible to take something that creates stem cells and have it arrive at the right spot?

@Everyloop I've been reading about stem cells being converted into auditory nerves and then being transplanted into the ears of an animal. I think being able to transplant the stem cells as close as possible to the area of damage gives them a much better chance of healing what has been lost/damaged.
