Concert — Rihanna — Earplugs/Earmuffs

I am at the gym right now - I aways wear my ear muffs because it can get noisy with the music and people dropping weights etc.. Don't need to hear that crap and get more damage
Over 65 Db is quite loud anyway

Use masking at night and when you wake up at night try and focus on listening to the masking sound instead of your T.

Do you think prednisone improved your T?
I will definitely! I dont think Prednisone did that to be honest, I think the stress and the sleep, I couldn't get a good sleep and I was stressed so it could be that, thanks God I do not hear it when I m outside, because I can mask it

And Sam, I know..Oh I can only imagine how lucky are some people to go concerts and all and do no damage- at least not the damage to lead to tinnitus

My Audiologist says prednisone is used for hearing loss, so it may have helped restore your hearing as you said in earlier posts that your hearing was affected.

I could not sleep for 2 weeks when T started and then it got better. You just need to be patient and you would get adjusted in time.

I have one of those apps also. It says everything is like 80db and up. Even in the middle of nowhere Pennsylvania. My totally quiet office is 85-90 according to it.

I call shenanigans

Ha yeah i have one and even in a quiet room it measures 60db ....

Yeah I don't think the app works properly to be honest!Like at the gym the max it showed me it was 95 db (calm music and can say it wasnt even close to loud.)when a concert is 110 dB! :)))

it's highly unlikely that you were able to do any real damage to your ears with one exposure if wearing earplugs. if that was the case the pros with tinnitus who tour wearing plugs would be living in a jet engine.

what is likely is you went in to an anxiety spiral (which while it may be temporary, is equally distressing)

pheeew...Very happy that it got better for you! :))
maybe it will still improve and go back to baseline :)
thank you for keeping us informed

I have tried a few of those android db meter apps, I also have a cheap decibel meter I bought on Amazon. The phone apps always run high. I don't think they are very accurate.

Do you like the one you purchased on amazon? I was looking into purchasing one myself. What do you suggest? Please message me if it is not okay to put brand information on here. Thank you

You don't have cushing's syndrome do you? I wouldn't be concerned with a short term usage of Prednisone.
