My tinnitus was gearing up for a takeover and I was gonna reach for anxiety med I promised I would not be taking again, but went to my cabinet and took one of each of these and it helped quite a bit. My tinnitus settled down a bit and so did my nerves. Hey it's more healthy than lorazepam!

One is phosphatidylserine and the other is "Cortisol Manager" which is made by Integrative Theraputics. Amazon has it.

@Codaz
They are not percription. These are natural supplements. They helped calm me and when my tinnitus was low it helped. When my tinnities is loud it didn't do much but it still had some calming effect.

I really believe that cortisol is a key component to the fluctuations in our t. Also, along with overfiring of excitatory neurotransmitters, hormonal and adrenal levels play a huge role in brain chemistry surrounding t.

Isnt cortisol the hormone that floods the body when faced with a strongly stressful situation? along with the adrenaline.
anyone.....please?

would great stressful situation cause the t to go up? and when i say sressful i mean fear from a pyysical menacing situation which also involves a lot of screaming and threatening.......?
anyone?

Yes, it is.
Stress and cortisol go hand in hand. I believe cortisol plays a part with tinnitus, but not the whole picture.

I had a doctor tell me that blood pressure is correlated with cortisol. In other words, if your blood pressure is normal, your cortisol levels are probably fine. If your blood pressure is high, your cortisol probably is too.

@Larry OT

I just dont get it. Please explain it to me - sorry for being so dumb about this.
Cortisol is released when stressed along with adrenaline. This makes us ready for flight or fight.
So this affects T ...if too much it is said it can cause T. or aggravate it. So when those elememts disappear then the T gets better or reduces....
So how can taking cortisol help when it is produced thru stress which is either a cause or an aggravator of T?
How does taking cortisol supplement calm you down when it is there to speed us up?

So confused about this....please can you explain it to me....thanks

@amandine
The cortisol supplement is a aid to help reduce cortisol. It's call cortisol control.
Never tested blood after before and after taking it but I do notice a calmer feeling.
When my T is raging, it doesn't help.
Only when T is mild did it help mellow it out a bit.

What is the best supplement for lowering cortisol and how long can it be safely taken for? Anyone with any experience taking these kind of supplements? Does it lower your T?
