When I talk, as soon as I get done talking, my right ear crackles like crazy. Loud noises also make my right ear crackle. This all began 4 months ago after having fillings done with a dentist. Scheduled for balloon dilation of both my ears.
The ENT thinks me having my mouth open for almost two hours inflamed the tube, and that's why I hear the crackle. Had many ear surgeries growing up and restructured ear drum surgery when I was 17.
No he hasn't. This all started when I went to dentist so he's pretty sure the crackling is the air trying to move through the tubes. Hopefully the procedure fixes it.
All the time when you talk or just some occasions?
I think I have had something like this but it only happened when the person or people were loud when talking. It hasn't happened in a long time now. Knock on wood.
Maybe this doesn't help but my guess is that it will resolve eventually.
I had the Eustachian balloon dilation done at the end of October. It has gotten rid of my cracking. My right ear feels plugged though and can't hear much from it but I believe that's a symptom that will clear up!
