Tinnitus Since
02/2016
My tinnitus has improved greatly in the past 2 weeks.

like right now, im alone in an empty room and its there, but its low and it doesnt bother me.
a few days ago i woke up in the middle of the night and the noise was extreme.
im not sure if that is how "severe tinnitus" sound like.
i had trouble going back to sleep that night.

but it seems i can reset my tinnitus after sleeping and a nap.
ive been avoiding.. salt, sugar and msg.

the only "symptom" i get lately is like a few seconds of dizziness.
of course im still afraid of this because of my doctors "endolymphatic" diagnosis.
but my tinnitus has gotten so much better, and hearing reminds the same.

a friend of mine just sended me yesterday a screen shot, of a friend of hers
sharing a status and it was something like this.. "last year was a bummer, i was on the verge of going crazy i got sick of vertigo and my ears, after an operation, everything got better and now im doing so so much better and i enjoy everyday of my life"
hes back to playing music and stuff.
i hope there is hope for me aswell...

this thread is not really important but just wanted to share my current state after 8 months of tinnitus

no it is important...Congrats Mario.
How long have you had tinnitus? To me, these are important messages. Mine went down last night and is a bit lower today after raging a bit more the day before.
Ride the wave brother.

@Mario martz
Good to hear your tinnitus is reducing Mario and I hope it continues. Just a piece of advice: Try to avoid staying in quiet rooms especially at night, as it will make the brain focus more on the tinnitus. Use a sound machine at night by your bedside and set it to play until morning and keep the volume low....
Michael

Good for you. I would still say to follow up with a Neurotologist and continue to get hearing tests to monitor your hearing. Hope this just fades away:)

Hello Mario!

I am so happy to read you are improving! Another good story to add to the pile of "recoveries". Please keep us updated on your progress. If ever your Tinnitus gets so low it will be unnoticeable for you, please share. I see you have had Tinnitus for 7 months now, so especially the "recovery over longer term" stories are important to tell to others. They tell us Tinnitus can in fact back off over a longer period of time.

All the best to you and may you improve even further!

Thank you guys, i love the positive feedback.
this situation has got me look deeper in the real purpose of life itself.
just focus and what you can do, and love yourself and each and everyone around you.
no matter how hard the storm is, just focus on what you can still do.
there is always a new way to do things and live life.

thank you all for your support you have touched my heart many, many times.
and we are all in this together :)

That is just so awesome Mario it gives me some hope. I have had it for the last three months since a throat and sinus infection. The doctors were of no help. I have noticed that if I have sugar it is really bad. I have gone onto decaf tea and a little coffee. Sometimes I just wear my ear phones and play some really good rock down low for releaf. Maybe in time mine might go away who knows. One must have hope. thanks Mario.

Whenever I read the T have improved. I will be glad. Because most of the times I read that T have worsen.
I hope you will be better in future.

Thanks Mike. I don't want to be negative in this positive thread. But I have many problem with this T. I just let it go anywhere it want.

Happy for you Mario! My tinnitus has gone done in volume the last three weeks too. I'm still keeping my breath as I do not want to jinx myself. I had a terrible spike (hormones), quit my medication (candesartan) and after that things got more quiet. Fingers crossed! Unfortunately I'm still very nauseated in the morning and still depressed and anxious. So not out of the woods yet.

I don't want to be negative
I know my friend. It's hard to stay positive with this nasty stuff. Do your best to not let it destroy all your thoughts and dreams. There is still a life to live, even with tinnitus! You may have to change some of your dreams but that's OK. No one promised us a perfect life. I now life a totally different life than I had before tinnitus and hearing loss. I still enjoy small moments of pleasure even tho my head never stops ringing. I think I am so used to it now that I might have a hard to getting used to no ringing if they find a cure!! I might need medication to adjust to no ringing lol.

Stay strong. Be smart about this and focus on things that make you happy. It's OK to feel down at times too and really it's OK to cry if you need too. We are all rooting for you now. This is the best forum you will ever find for people who really understand and care about you.

Warm Regards,

Mike

One more week!
and tinnitus still super quiet.
its so shocking how when it gets quiet, this "silence" quickly because the new normal and i adjust pretty quick
i guess its very easy for the brain to not "miss" the sound of tinnitus.
well its been a pretty good week.
here are two things that got my attention and i think its worth to mention.

-since onset i havent been able to take a nap, because i was afraid to spike my t (it happend twice before)
this week i have take 2 long naps and no spike :D it remains quiet as fuck.

-yesterday i was working in a new restaurant (im a photographer) and there was a lot of construction noise around it, it was very near and i have forgotten my earplugs, when it became unbearable i moved from it, and the most awful was.. a guy who dropped a few plates it made and awful noise, he was behind me pffff
but no spike today, tinnitus remains super quiet still :D

the only weird bad thing that happend last week, was on sunday
for some reason my good ear got a sound or tinnitus idk for a bout 10 minutes and everything sounded weird robotic but this settle down in a few minutes, i hope this doesnt happen again anymore.

i hope my tinnitus keeps improving, and im thanking god for it being so quiet <3

@Mario martz Great, man. I am happy for you. Anything specific you did? And for how long?

Thank you martin,
im not sure i have done nothing different to be honest
i have been sleeping bad and eating bad too
just watching my salt/sugar/msg in take.

after all these years of music exposure and super loud concerts and gigs.
my doctor told me that my tinnitus seem to come from a "endolymphatic nature"
so it could be menieres or something similar, but to me i dont have any weird symptoms
just tinnitus in my left ear, it was moderate, some days severe, and now it got super soft.
i hope it reminds this way.
