Hi Everyone,

First, I have to say finding Tinnitus Talk has given me SO much relief and information!

I tested positive last Tuesday for COVID-19, symptoms were very much "head-coldy".

On Thursday, I started having pretty nasty head and sinus congestion. My ears felt full and my sinus felt clogged. Thursday night I started noticing a high pitch ringing in my ear which then shifted to almost like bass (I thought someone was playing it in their car). I fell asleep, woke up the next day to it continuing.

Might I add, I've never had tinnitus before. It scared me pretty good so I went to the ER. The doctor said there was inflammation and gave me a prescription for Nasonex (steroid nasal spray).

It's now Tuesday and I was shocked that up until 4:30 pm I had no tinnitus. It started up again, but no "bass," just the high pitch, which is really only a 2/10. I know it's early and I am still showing symptoms of COVID-19/sinus pressure as my ears still feel full.

I'm hoping that someone may have experienced something similar to my situation and has some positive stories to share!

Hi @ndan09,

Sorry to read you got tinnitus. Your tinnitus is fresh... Every day counts. Consider asking your doctor (family doctor) for Prednisone. Starting with 3 days at 60 mg, then tapered off by 10 mg/day. So: 60 mg, 60 mg, 60 mg, 50 mg, 40 mg, 30 mg, 20 mg, 10 mg, 10 mg, 10 mg.

Best of luck!

Kind regards,
Jan
