Do you ever get delayed reactions to sound exposures? Often, I seem to get delayed reactions to apparent over-exposure to noise. What happens is that I might over-expose, and when I wake up the next day I am worse. It is always the morning after. Now, of course, it may not be, but there really seems to be a correlation. Of course, I get immediate reactions to noise exposure, but that other pattern seems to happen also. Can anyone confirm that this may also happen to them?

This, of course, creates some anxiety since sometimes I do not know if I am over exposing in some iffy situations.

Yeah, that happens to me too. When the reaction is delayed, in my case, it is usually worse than an inmediate reaction.

Happens to me all the time. I got a spike right now due to a delayed reaction. But my delays range from a day, to a week. Strange? I know.

So I'm back in school and I gotta take the city bus. And I'm cocky self was like "HA! I don't need to wear earplugs near a busy highway." And here I am lol. But my spikes already gotten better. But for now on I know to wear earplugs when waiting for the city bus.

Thank you all for your replies.

These delayed reactions make it hard to judge many sound situations, of course. I ask myself often: will this exposure lead to worse ears tomorrow morning or not? I once had a 2 MONTH very bad setback because I thought all the noise I had exposed myself to would be OK. Luckily, my delayed setbacks last only a day or so usually.
