Cause of Tinnitus
Not sure
I was reading some articles in swedish and many claim that depression and tinnitus goes hand in hand to a higher degree than we would think.

Many people have perfect hearing and still have tinnitus, could this be because of depression and anxiety?

Tests had shown that over 60% of tinnitus sufferers have had depression and/or anxiety problem for a longer period.

People with tinnitus and NO hearing loss were more likely to commit suicide than people with tinnitus AND hearing loss, which also indicated that the biggest reason is the anxiety/depression.

If you could read Swedish or still want the articles you can ask. What are you opinions about this?

They also did a placebo test with sugar pills which they told were antidepressants, and after four months a high percentage of the sufferers got cured or better.

Very possible. I have tinnitus and also suffer from anxiety and depression (and insomnia!). Many people claim that stress is a major factor in causing tinnitus.

Because this is the thing: Exception for the last 3-4 days, I have lived a normal life since late june until present. 4 days ago I got very stressed up about a sound coming from the outside of my window. This sound upsetted me so much that I thinked about it all the time, it almost became a new T even tho i KNEW it had an external source. Now all of a sudden I feel worse and my T has spiked up. I cant stop to think that if that external sound didnt occur I would still be on my positive streak. Emotions can do more than we think.
