Cause of Tinnitus
Acoustic trauma
I have NIHL and tinnitus. I recently exposed myself to louder than normal noise (concert with ear plugs and cocktail party with ear plugs) and induced a mild spike.

Most recently I find my myself terribly DIZZY when standing up after sleeping or lying down during the day to the point of vomiting!

Does anyone have any idea as to what could be going on?

I would see someone about "Vertigo" it comes with or without tinnitus. If you have spinning sensations or balance issues, see an ear Dr. Not an ENT

Yes, I have spinning issues. Thank you.

There are many reasons for spinning sensation called vertigo. Meniere's disease can cause both vertigo and tinnitus. But if it is not due to that, you can try this maneuver that I used for my BPPV type of vertigo. I had it so bad one time that it caused violent vomiting. I found this maneuver from youtube posted by a lady MD who has used this to cure her own BPPV vertigo. I tried it and my vertigo was gone in one day. I have since told many of my friends who have BPPV vertigo and it helps them too. It is miraculous that something causing so much suffering can be cured by such a simple body posture maneuver. Try it. It never hurts to see if it will help you too. Good luck. God bless.

You do know the inner ear is responsible for both hearing and balance right?

Thank you! I will try it. I did throw up too. Terrible feeling!

@Flamingo1 Betaserc isn't good for much, but it is good for vertigo. I would try that if the BPPV manouevres don't work. It might just be an otolith that's come loose. They've both worked for me.
