I have very high pitched tinnitus and it started after an middle ear infection, so is this middle ear tinnitus? Any treatments for that?

You mean like there is something mechanical wrong in you middle ear? In that case your T would be objective. The sound would not be an interior sound since the source of it would come from the middle ear i.e exterior. And if that was the case, Trobalt and Keppra wouldnt have any effect.

I'm just trying to work out the cause of my tinnitus as my hearing is fine, over 17000hz I can hear...So yeah.

I guess we are in the same boat the only hearing loss I have is 12db at 16,000hz
do you have any dips in your audiogram?

I don't have a clue...Never seen my hearing results. I just did an hearing test on youtube and could hear well over 17000hz.

Even though you might be able to hear over 17K, that doesn't mean that there is some frequency missing somewhere before or after that. In regards to hearing loss and tinnitus, if tinnitus is indeed filing in sound for missing frequencies then this may be your case unless your T was not caused by hearing loss. Have you ever had a high frequency audiogram?

Wouldn't have a clue...I only had my hearing tested for AM-101.

Everyone with T should have a hearing loss recorded somewhere in their audiogram, even if the T was not a result of hearing loss since the T would mask the hearing test at that particular frequency.

I had a real hard time trying to match my T, but after doing thee hearing tests up to 16Khz, I was told that the 12db dip I have in the 16KHz is because my T is at that frequency.

Might have to have it tested again then.
