I'm just curious, because I know I have at least 4 different sounds of T. It might even be more, but I don't listen for it specifically.

One is bilateral. It is the one that started 10 years ago and has been fairly stable over the years. All the other sounds are unilateral and mostly in my right ear. They started out as faint sounds 8-6 years ago and have spiked somewhat fast over the years.

It seems to me that most people mention one or two sounds. Does anyone else have a whole orchestra in their head?

Three hissing-electrical sounds that fluctuate in loudness but are always there, several different intermittent tonal sounds at various frequencies, all bilateral. Add some drums and I could take this noise on the road!

Probably 4 or 5 for me. I try not to be conscious of them. One of them still frightens me :cautious:

Yes. I used to have even more before my stapedotomy. One of them sounded like I had thrown a can of soup into my (laundry) dryer and turned it on.

Lots of high pitched fluctuating electrical sounds on top of a constant background tone in both ears. Sounds like a live wire, or maybe an old fax machine.

I have at least 4 or 5, they are fluctuating, even though the main one is the first I got 12 years ago. It became a fat adult over the years... Not the whining baby of the beginning any longer.

I don't feel alone anymore! I thought it was only me with this problem. I had tinnitus for about 15 years. I habituated to it for years because it was only one sound. But the last few months it's gotten worse with many new different sounds. But I habituated to it before and I'll do it again! I hope.
I'll drink a few beers tonight and watch a Christmas movie and try not to think about it.

For me it started, about half a year ago, with one high pitched sound in my left ear. Since then, it has evolved into a false orchestra of at least 5 different tones. The sounds seem to shift in pitch and loudness every day, though one high pitched sound in my left ear is stable. Luckily, the majority of the time my tinnitus is not reactive and masking helps. :)
