Do You Wake Up with Either Louder or Lower Tinnitus? Question for You

When I first got T my Dr. gave me a prescription for ambien one or two tablets per evening. I took a half of one tablet and would sleep 4 hours then take the other half and sleep another 3 to 4 hours. After a couple of monthes I was falling asleep on my own watching TV and decided I didnt need it anymore. I do play nature sounds in my room at night mostly crickets with birds chirping from you tube and it works out fine. Well that was going great but have alot of neck pain from arthritis and my ostopath told me to take one .5 valium every night to relax the muscles in my neck to relieve the pain. Sleeping like a baby again 7 to 8 hours straight through....I dont like taking medication but have to have relief.....

I don't have any problems sleeping. It's being awake that is rough. Sleep has always been my refuge in this battle. Even in the beginning when T was loudest and most painful, I could sleep. I used to go to work, then come home and pretty much go straight to bed. I was just exhausted from the noise and pain and sleeping was the only way to make it stop.
I used to wake up in the morning with really loud T. I was amazed that I had slept with that noise going on in my head! I had to get quickly out of bed so I could bring in other senses like sight and smell and taste, and the T would back down a bit. I still value sleep as an escape but I sleep regular hours now, about 8 hours. Mornings are usually my quietest times now.

My T seems to be the same day and night. The odd time I will get an added tone in my left ear. A lower tone like the sound of a television channel going off the air for the night. This lower tone typically only lasts for around 30 minutes and then disappears.

If I woke up with low T , I know my day will be a good day ...it will remain low all day until next morning
If I woke up with high T , same, I know my day will be bad until next day

Only the sleep "reset" my T for good or bad.

This morning I woke up at 5 Am , T was low , I was very tired but jump from the bed to expect to enjoy a good day.
I know i fell asleep again I could wake up again with a bad T

It's like during the sleep cycle, something happens in the brain, synapses, and I have to catch up the right moment to wake up which it's almost impossible.

Yesterday I woke up with a high T and I had a VERY bad day . My T was above any sound all day long . Try to listened crickets etc. and high volume, but nothing worked

Does anyone have the same pattern? if yes does anyone figure out what's happen during the sleep

Sleep "always" makes it better. I always mask, but my masking doesn't cut it most of the time. In the morning it's okay though.

For me sleep doesn t make it better
Some night I sleep well and wake up with bad T
Some night sleep is not so good and T is quieter

But Only the sleep "reset" my T for good or bad. Nothing else

80%-90% of times it's better in the morning.

On some days, however, it's the worst in the morning. It then improves over an hour or two to a more "typical" level.

For me it depends. Most of the times it is fortunately lower, sometimes louder. Having a good night sleep usually makes the tinnitus seem less loud.

Masking with a single "static" sound (pink noise, whereas I used white noise + the sound of a creek before) using my earbuds at night made by T a lot better during daytime. Amazing how a simple change can have such an effect.

I have sleep apnea, so at night I use an APAP machine. I never wake up with my T being worse from a night's sleep. In fact, I wake up not really noticing my T.

However, if I fall asleep on the sofa or someplace else without my APAP, I always seem to wake up with almost deafening T (a high pitch buzzing....like a zillion cicadas). It dissipates in about a half hour down to the usual sound level. I've mentioned this to my doctor and she doesn't have an explanation. Perhaps the sleep apnea has something to do with it. I can hear myself snoring and snorting when I nap without my APAP machine. It doesn't seem to matter whether I nap sitting up or lying down....the deafening buzz always seems to come as I wake up.

I have T in two tones: one is a high pitched buzz, and the other is a low drone (like a car idling in the distance). I have a little hearing loss, as well and have been diagnosed with Hydrops.

You may want to consider getting tested for sleep apnea. Just a suggestion!
