I get this every time I swallow. Louder in my right ear than my left. I used to suffer from mild lockjaw as a teen, but that eventually subsided. I was told at the time by my GP that my jaw slightly dislocates on the right hand side... I think this must be the cause of my T. I was told to see a dentist... when I told the dentist about it, I was told to go back to my GP! I also have a whooshing noise in both ears. Not sure if this is related to the same thing or not.

Welcome to Tinnitus Talk.
The whooshing needs to be checked out by ENT and your jaw could be TMJand a dental x-ray should help find that out or a Maxilofacial specialist.
A mouth guard can help with TMJ after a mouth guard is worn for a few weeks but then used every night....lots of love glynis

I've had it on and off for few years now. Really disturbing when it plays up but harmless really. I could never pin point why it comes back.
It's hard to explain but it's almost like a click of the computer mouse!

Yes clicking in right ear. Whooshing noise too

I think this is pretty typical of everyone, but it may be unusual if the volume and 'force; of the clicking is really high. Mine can be a really loud clicking sound, loud enough that I can *feel* it in my ear.
It has set off migraines, did other strange things in my ears, which is why I don't think it's normal.

In your case if you have a past history of TMJ issues that would probably explain your clicking. The clicking is often just the top of the tmj moving when you swallow, and that part is really close to the ear.
I hope you are going to see the dentist or a TMJ specialist about this. Because you also have pulsatile T, I would visit a a neurologist or a neurotologist too.

So do people hear the clicking when swallowing because of hyperacusis?

This has accompanied the elevated volume of my tinnitus over the last month and I haven't received an explanation from the medical professionals I've seen.
