Does Anyone Experience Squeezing in the Ear Canal?

I was wondering if anyone experiences a constant squeezing sensation in the ear canal? It feels different from the ear fullness I usually get. It's more like the ear canal itself is squeezing, along with the fullness. Could this be related to Eustachian tube dysfunction (ETD)?

I have TTTS (possibly caused by noise?), along with tinnitus, ear fullness, that squeezing sensation, occasional ear canal pain, on-and-off tingling in the ear canal and side of my face, and fluctuating facial tension. These symptoms (excluding the TTTS) appeared suddenly over a year ago after taking an SSRI for just a couple of days.

I feel a tightness on the outside of my ear canal, along with facial tension around the ear, mostly in front and below. This started a few weeks ago after having my ear irrigated for wax removal. It is in my left ear.

I have had longstanding tinnitus in my right ear, but honestly, this tension in my left ear is far more bothersome. I have seen multiple doctors, but they just check with an otoscope and say everything looks normal. Meanwhile, the constant tension is driving me nuts. I do not really have a feeling of fullness in the ear, and my hearing seems fine.

I am hoping it resolves with time, but it has been over three weeks now. It seems to be such a rare side effect of ear syringing that no one seems to know much about it.

I made an account just to say that I also had ear irrigation performed in both ears using a spray bottle with a pointed nozzle, and I am experiencing similar effects to yours with similar timing. I feel tension in my ears, like a squeezing sensation. It happens occasionally—about every few weeks.

That said, I am more bothered by my tinnitus than anything else. And like you, the ENT examined my ears with an otoscope and found no issues.

I hope your experience improves.

Unfortunately, it has gotten much worse. I now have clicking in both ears, along with pain hyperacusis in both ears. They also used a spray bottle on me.

About six weeks after the procedure, I am truly suffering.

I am about a year past the experience. Similarly, I felt intense regret and suffering after the ear irrigation.

I wanted to share that my hyperacusis improved about five months after the procedure. I hope you experience the same recovery. The improvement was very gradual. While dealing with sound sensitivity, I used Loop earplugs (available on Amazon) or wore over-ear headphones (not turned on, just as a physical barrier) to help me cope.

I'm new on this forum. I created an account after reading all of the other similar horror stories to my own. I recently took Lexapro for maybe 3 days in February. It made me feel nauseous, so I requested something different. I actually requested Wellbutrin not having any idea that any of this could happen. On day 2 of Wellbutrin I began feeling ear fullness in my right ear as well as my pulse in my ear. I stopped Wellbutrin after only 6 days (Feb 28th). At first the constant pulsation was just an annoyance but it became the focus of my attention. I went back to my doctor last week to talk about my symptoms and they suggested my body needed time to adjust. Wednesday I went to the ER in hopes of getting some real treatment because it has been driving me crazy, and the ER doctor treated me as if I have allergies and prescribed flonase and zyrtec. I have an appointment with an ENT this upcoming Thursday but I am already beginning to lose hope in finding answers. My fear is that I am going to feel/hear this for the rest of my life. It's such a distraction at work and when I get home all I want to do is sedate myself and sleep. Every morning I wake up hoping it was all just a bad dream, and every day my ear feels full and I hear my heartbeat. It's only been like 8 or 9 days and already I don't know how long I can keep this up without losing my mind.
