That's only one of the sounds my ears make whenever I hear a tap running, fan, traffic, leaves rustling, or any other whitenoise-ish type sound. Is there any way to calm it down?

That's my distortions! Thanx for the video. I have exactly the same type of symptoms apart from my regular polyphonic tinnitus. It got worse the last two weeks whilst it seemed to subside. I also get this with music, although the morse segment of mine sounds more like intermittent whistles. @SilverSpiral has similar symptoms. Also @PaulBe. PM me if you wanna share any ideas. Not many people have this. I really want to get rid of this more then my regular tinnitus. Btw i used to love Megaman. Your avatar brought to me memories.

Yeah I also have H. They could be connected. Iwish I only had my regular tinnitus, not all these distortions too. I have the morse code, whistling with music, and I have a heavy midtone in my right ear with a vibration in my head when I speak or hear people speak (humming is the worst actually). I made an example of that too:

I had something like this. Do you use a fan at night or an air conditioner? Mine went away once I eliminated white noise while sleeping.

It's funny you say that, I had this since Dec 2016 but it went away over time - until last week, I stayed at a friend's apartment for two nights. He has an air conditioner that blasts all night. It's not technically loud, but us with hyperacusis would consider it loud. Well guess what, now my noises are back. Hopefully they go away again...

So guys what is the best approach for this? What about traffic noise? Mine seems to be aggrevaged by that every time I have to go out at the street. Any ideas?

Ye man they'll go away!!! Good thing that you've noticed that AC's make your tinnitus worse...I had this thing for a long time...I hope it won't return anymore :

Kinda want to make an audio ExHiBition of what mine sounded like :D But then again I don't want to lol...if I would try to make it then maybe my brain would remember the distortion tinnitus and I would be back in hell again... I think mine started after messing this one synthesizer lol

Yeah, at least in my case, it doesn't have to be loud.. it just has to be consistent white noise. It fueled my T.

Got my tinnitus around mid February this year - and for a few months after I had ever-changing reactive tinnitus like you guys described. Whats funny is most of the time is resembled a vacuum cleaner - but just barely in ear-shot, and mostly in my left ear. As if someone was stalking me with a vacuum cleaned relentlessly outside (Wind and flowing water made the sound appear).

Eventually it faded, and some nights I even slept without any white noise.

These days its back though - albeit a different tone than before - and I think maybe due to having so many fans and AC noise in my house and office to deal with the heat waves (In California)

I'll try to sleep without any white noise and maybe seek quieter places for a bit.

9-12 months

Sorry, but i have a few more questions for you.

1. I was wondering if you also had hyperacusis with this, or possibly still?

2. I am asuming you also have a regular Tinitus next to this?

3. Did it fade out gradually or did it just disappear at once?

4. Did you do anything special to speed up the recovery process? like possibly sound therapy...

5. Did you also experience mild light headedness and tired eyes when you had this?

6. What was the cause for your Tinnitus in the first place?

Thank you

1. Ye had bad bad hyperacusis.. the H went completely away!!(maybe I can't say tho because I haven't been in "louder" environments but I can ride a bus etc without earplugs :p

2. Ye

3. Maybe medications.. I still don't know if I'm "healed"/recovered from hyperacusis or if I'm just too medicated to notice..guess the time will tell lol

4. Lol gotta say I started listening to Grateful Dead during the night times and day times too :D

5. What are those?

6. one music festival where I was inside the room where they played music real loud..I remember when I went to that room the drums hurt my ears but I just stayed there like a fool.. was there for 6 hours straight without earplugs and didn't go outside not even once...dang

This is exactly same as I have. It seems to be worse when I am stressed/slept less..

I will be having MRI scan 25 of March. Anyone have any news ?

I want to report that after 4 years of this shit that is simulated on that video has gone so bad, that now I hear a mix of typewriter-like and metallic sounds, even on top of human voices or my own voice and breathing.

I need help. I really need help.

I need help for this too, it's insane. I'm putting my full faith in regenerative medicine.

Wouldn't it be better to hope for it but try to get on with your life as if no cure was coming?

I understand if it's not possible due to the severity of your problems.

Did you ever rule out microvascular compression of the 8th nerve? Even contact with the arteria (mostly AICA loop) can create these symptoms.

Try Carbamazepine and do a BERA test and a high definition MRI.

If sounds or special movements are triggering these symptoms that are intermittent and very reactive, then you might have this kind of issue. Maybe I am wrong, but I would definitely have this check out!

Hmm I realize you might be talking to the OP but how do I get the doctors to check me out for this?

Well I am getting an MRI so hopefully something shows.

This could be my issue too although my very reactive tinnitus came a few days after a cold a year ago. I get these almost fleeting tinnitus like beeps that last a few seconds like I have my reactive whistles and morse code and wine glass humming sounds but I also get like a random reactive fleeting tinnitus beep that I can kind of feel and which is intermittent around sound.

I wonder if a poor diet and drinking a lot of alcohol can be bad for these symptoms.

Hello! Do you also have this problem (morse code tinnitus)?
