Not sure
My pulsatile tinnitus is from a patulous eustachian tube, and two things seem to trigger it:

a) drinking water (especially drinking it quickly), and

b) the valsalva maneuver.

My assumption is that those things probably open the eustachian tubes, but I haven't heard of many pulsatile tinnitus sufferers with these specific triggers so I was curious.

Anyone with similar triggers? What causes yours?

I don't have pulsatile tinnitus and I don't have an issue with drinking water. But doing the valsalva maneuver caused my tinnitus in the first place.

Hey there,

I've had recent intense pulsatile tinnitus spikes, which can happen randomly but does happen when swallowing water too! I also have PET and a host of all other ear issues.

I've been told my pulsatile tinnitus is somatic, but going to hopefully have more testing done to try find out why this is happening.
