Hi all,

2 days ago someone played a dog whistle app on their cell phone during class and I happened to hear it. I now have a low high pitched ring in my ear for these past two days. Is this just a coincidence or has it damaged my ears?

It's been a week since I've gotten it. I went to my GP days after and he said there was some discoloration in my tympanic membrane and it might be some fluid behind the eardrums. He started me on prednisone for 5 days. I think it disappeared for 10 minutes this morning, but now I'm starting to really worry that it won't go away.

Don't worry. Because no use of worrying. It will only make things worse. Keep faith. Your will go away for sure. A dog whistle can't cause permenant tinnitus.

noise exposure can cause permanent tinnitus, even if it is ultra sound it still stimulates hair cells.
