Possibly fluid in middle ears?
Hey there,

I suppose this is the part where I give a little background. I developed tinnitus about two years ago. Around that time, I had Eustachian Tube Dysfunction, though I must admit I frequently used my headphones, probably not at safe levels. I have no hearing loss, and I managed to habituate to it just fine.

However, the Eustachian Tube Dysfunction came back last month. Although I had no new tinnitus issues, unfortunately, while at work, someone slammed a loud metal pan a few feet from my bad ear a few weeks ago. During that time, I experienced severe reactive tinnitus. While it improved, it never fully went away, and now my right ear hears crickets when listening to white noise such as fans.

Now, I'm starting to notice that when watching TV or playing audio from my computer, my tinnitus either spikes, or I feel ear fullness, even when the TV is at a low volume. Is this just acoustic trauma that will get better with time by avoiding loud sounds, or is there something else I could be doing?

Thank you for your time.

Yeah, maybe the acoustic shock you experienced last month is still having some negative impact.

Time will probably help...

Could you please explain what "ear fullness" means? I'm not entirely sure. Are you referring to changes in hearing sensitivity at times? I do notice that my hearing fluctuates occasionally, but I'm not sure why this happens. For instance, sometimes the TV or radio suddenly seems too loud, and I have to turn it down, even though I usually need to turn it up. It's like the volume becomes overwhelming for my head, but this only lasts for a little while. After that, I usually don't even notice when my hearing goes back to its usual "hard of hearing" state. Is that what you mean by "ear fullness"?
