Ear Tingling and Ear Fullness from Medication/SSRI-Induced Tinnitus

Hello,

Does anyone else experience ear tingling and ear fullness from medication or SSRI-induced tinnitus?

I have all these symptoms from taking Citalopram for only five days. On the fifth day, my ear felt like it 'blew out' and left me with tinnitus, ear fullness, pain, and a weird ear-tingling sensation in the ear canal.

If you have experienced any of these symptoms from medication-induced tinnitus, I'd love to hear from you. Has it gotten better over time?

@ellees, how are you doing now? Has your tinnitus improved at all?

@User4206, I initially got tinnitus in January 2024. The sound has improved, though I still hear it at home or, really, in any quiet room. The ear fullness took over six months to improve somewhat, but it's definitely still there. The tingling sensation is so odd; it comes and goes. For the past week, it seems to have improved, but who knows if it'll come back?

My ear canal in my worse ear almost always feels very tense, which is strange and distressing.

Are you going through a similar situation? Was your tinnitus medication-induced?
