Hello all,
I am a long time lurker on this forum, as years ago, I was exposed to a loud explosion that resulted in permanent tinnitus in my right ear. After dealing with and adjusting to the condition, I was able to continue perusing my goals.
About 3 months ago I started getting a low, vibrating sensation in my left ear. Went to my ENT about it and was prescribed steroids to reduce swelling. While the vibrating is quite infrequent, I developed a condition which make absolutely ZERO sense to me!!
When exposed to certain, normal amplitude, sounds/frequencies in my right ear, my LEFT eardrum begins to spasm and flutter. This happens mainly when trying to watch YouTube videos or playing certain video games.
If I plug my right ear, the spasm ceases in my left ear. However if I plug my left ear and expose my right, the left ear spasms. I can even put an earbud in right right, play a certain sound, and my left ear will spasm.
What possible correlation could there be between sound reaching my right ear and then result in my left ear contracting?????
Like I said, it's only certain sounds/frequencies that cause this flutter, and is virtually nonexistent in noisy environments. Is this something that resolves itself in time or am I stuck with this for life :/
