Tinnitus comes with lots of unwanted emotions and some people need support, don't suffer alone.

what this guy fails to recognize is that the two physical and mental often go hand in hand, they aren't as separate as he seem to think. Sounds like he may not have a clue, but great for big pharma, talk about depression, spread depression, sell more drugs.

Spot on.

I actually read somewhere that Prince Harry as part of his Invictus Games work actually met a veteran who spoke about his tinnitus and it's mentioned (just briefly) in this article -

from the article:

"Discussing the mental pressure of his various charity causes, he described one day at work: "In the morning, I spoke to one girl who had tried to commit suicide, met another guy suffering so bad from PTSD (Post Traumatic Stress Disorder) that he was shaking, blinking and unable to make conversation with me and another one who had tinnitus from a practice grenade, which means he has to go to bed with a speaker on, otherwise it's ringing in his ears all night."

The monarchy went downhill with Charles I. Elizabeth 1 was the greatest leader in all of human history. James 1 and 4th wasnt too shabby either.

I recently visited a Dr. in the US for a physical. One of the questions was if I've been having any trouble with depression or anxiety. I paused 15-20 seconds and then replied, "How could you tell?" The nurse then explained it was a standard question.

Hi all,

I just found this thread and its a good place to ask a question about something I've been wondering.

I read somewhere on BTA's website that their patron is the Duchess of Devonshire. As an American, I'm not too familiar with the role of a patron and titles such as Dukes and Duchesses. We don't have monarchies, we have dynasties like the Bush Dynasty and the Clinton Dynasty.

Where is Devonshire? Why do they have a Duchess? Is there a Duke, too? And, what is it the the Duchess would do for the BTA?

Thanks, TC

Interesting question! Just from Googling I'm guessing it is either the late Duchess Deborah (aka The Dowager Duchess) or possibly Duchess Amanda Cavendish. Deborah passed away in 2014. She was the youngest of the famous Mitford sisters. Her sister Nancy wrote Love in a Cold Climate. But I know nothing about Duchesses and am only going by Internet searches.

Wow, sounds so Downton Abbey!

Fact.......A huge amount of us would never have succumbed to any kind of depression without severe tinnitus shafting the living shit out of us day after day. A lot of us were jolly people living jolly lives.

Yeah, I wouldn't have traded my life with anyone, I had said this many times in the past. It was all such a incredible ride prior to tinnitus, I was the happiest man alive just doing things like taking the dogs to the park, now I'm mentally ill.

It is impossible to separate the physiology and the psychology when it comes to tinnitus, in fact I'd say the psychology is almost entirely driven by the physiology. Tinnitus directly attack the wiring of the sympathetic nervous system. It creates a perfect storm of blended physiology and psychology.

Oh Elizabeth....the greatest woman in history and truly a hero to the female race...sometimes i dream of being there as she is chewing her fingers to the bone when the courier stumbled in with news of the Spanish Armada.

When i first came to America my dad would read me pamphlets from the Spice Girls CD (so i can learn english) and I was so annoyed I gave him a book on Queen Elizabeth and he read it to me every day...changed my life.

The English are my favorite people, great culture, great mannerism, great history, great authors, great TV shows....everything is amazing.

Yup, this is a little part of history that the Spaniards in general don't know much about. I wonder why....
not just Spaniards but the whole world.

The Spanish tried to destroy England for not bowing to the Pope and got their butts handed to them supremely.
Also remember remember the 5th of November. Providence was certainly at play here.

If I remember correctly, 13 fireships, wiped out most of the armada fleet. The rest went round the island and sunk due to severe storms trying to get back home. Mm, haven't heard of the 5th of November. I'll look it up in Google.

5th of November, the Gunpowder Plot/Jesuit Treason.

Sir Francis Drake was chasing the Spanish fleet and a Spanish ship ran aground on a reef or a sandbar or something and Drake stopped pursuit to go plunder the stricken Spanish ship that was full of gold and still went and savaged them. Not to mention Drake went on a piracy bonanza around South America and super robbed the Spanish outpost all around the continent which won the English much Spanish gold.

Awesome career he had.

No wonder they don't teach us that here at school now a days. What a nightmare for Spanish history...

It was a Papal crusade against Protestant English. Very embarrassing indeed. I'm sure they were all full of zeal thinking they were warriors of God and I can just feel their disillusionment when they saw those flaming ships headed their way knowing their doom was at hand.

It was also a very foggy day and the English were very clever to take that to there advantage. Before the Spanish knew it, they were burning away...
