So yesterday I woke up completely sound free - no tinnitus in sight. Lasted all day, not a hint. Went to bed at midnight and woke up about 15 mins later with the ringing in my ear again! What gives.

Anyone else experience this?

Awakening tinnitus is common. I'm from MN also.

Thanks for all the information. This has been a weird week... three days with absolutely no tinnitus morning to night. The rest mild except one afternoon/evening when it was bad. It just seems to linger and be unpredictable. I'm trying to remain hopeful that the silent days means I may fully recover.

It may also be connected to sleep quality. I seem have a similar kind of thing happen. Sleep with very low T then wake up to a spike or go to bed with higher T then wake up with low. For me I think it can be to do with REM sleep as it's sleep quality after 4am that often decides how the day is going to be.

If ur T is new and already fading to nothing then yes theres a 90% chance it will go away completely.

Just stay away from loud music for awhile and dont read horror stories because trust me, the people spreading them are select few die hards and the stories are NOT true for the majority of people

Studies have shown that happens in MN only ``` Well ~ kidding of course ~ mine came and went years ago but now ~ pretty much is there all the time ~ I'll have another cup of coffee and think about it ```

Good luck ~ hope yours goes away for good ```

Yes that is normal in the first year, it comes and goes and changes until it settles on baseline.
