Just an FYI, I have had tinnitus for quite a number of years, however minimal. After about 2 hours from getting up this morning, an excessive ringing sound seems to be coming from my right ear. It's about the same pitch as my normal tinnitus is, just louder. It hasn't calmed down yet and I'm wondering what this could be.
I've had periods where, either in my left or right ear, but never both at the same time, everything will go very quiet and the ringing will be very loud. The ringing will fade and volume will slowly start to resume to normal levels. When the ringing this morning started, volume has not changed, just the ringing has become louder.
I went to a hearing clinic a number of weeks ago and they referred me to an ENT because there was some "cloudiness" on the ear drum itself (I think is what she specified it was). Could this have something to do with it?
Any input would be appreciated.
Thanks.
