Hey everyone,
On Friday night, two nights ago, I went to a festival and to my surprise there was a DJ there that played loud music. At one point, for maybe under a minute, it was so loud I blocked my ears the entire time but then unblocked them when the music went back down. It was loud though the whole 25 or 30 minutes I was there. After I left, I didn't notice an increase but today, two days later, I'm experiencing a big spike with ear fullness. However, I just started my menstrual (sorry for too many details) and its heavy. My circulation is also poor. So I'm asking is this spike due to the noise or my menstrual? I'm worried that This can last forever

Also can I take NAC now to prevent any damage that might have occurred?

Just take te NAC its not bad. Why Didn't you wear earplugs. I advice everyone with t en h to buy custom earplugs. ITS an investment but it is for your ears

Time is a great healer and hope your tinnitus does settle down again soon .
You need to get some noise reduction ear plugs.
Menstruation can cause tinnitus to spike the to water retention of it becomes a problem you can get tablets over the counter like waterfalls to help you.......lots of love glynis

@bekker i am getting ear plugs soon, I didn't know there would be music at this festival. Also would the spike happen immediately following the festival? I didn't notice any change until today

@glynis thank you, I hope so too. I'm getting ear plugs soon, I'm going to ask my ENT about them. And thanks, yes I think I will buy the water tab
Eats. Do you know if the spike would happen immediately after the festival though? Because the spike happened today, two days after the festival.

It's hard to say as spikes happen so easy even just waking up.
You can get delayed problems from concerts but also hormones.
Just try have a few treats keep your mood up and wait for the storm to pass and it will soon.
Stay positive and calm.....lots of love glynis

I also had very much anxiety the first 4 months. I got little panic attacks when i heard the t in class and was very anxious for loud noises. I'm now in the 5 month and it goes very Well. I don't know what it is but my anxiety and perception to the t is very much gone. My t is still there but much of the time i don't hear it anymore because i'm not busy with the t.
The Spike you have now is only temporarely and maybe iTS not even a Spike but is sounds louder because your perception is on it after the festival.

My advice to you is read Some Posts at the succes stories and try to get your anxiety away. Then you wont be busy with checking your t anymore when you experienced loud noises. Also get Some customized earplugs and put them in you pocket everyday just Like your wallet and mobile

Thank you @bekker I appreciate it. I have had it for 4 months and I've been coping but still trying to adjust. I think I'm more upset because I'm young, in my mid twenties, and I'm afraid of it getting worse. I agree though, I have high levels of stress lately so it may be my perception. The noise is more like high static now. I think as you said, the key is to be as busy as possible so your brain doesn't pay attention to the noise. I'm going to my ENT Thursday and will ask about the ear plugs. I'll also take a walk and try to reduce my anxiety. Thanks for your advice again

Yes keep Yourself busy. I'm in my mid Twentys too and clubbing and festivals were one of my biggelt hobby's. I can't go out inside a club anymore because the t en h becomes worse even with my 33 decibel ear plugs. I still can go to a festival but i think 3 or 4 a Year is enough because i don't want my ears to get worse. I know exactly wat your feeling. For me it the first months it felt Like my World was over.
It won't become worse from noises Like Cars and school bells but you only have to be carefull with movie theaters, cafés with loud music, festivals and things Like that. My advice is to take the 33 decibel earplugs custom made so you know your safe take a look at www.pluggerz.com

And when you go to loud places Like a festival take NAC and magnesium beforee and after the festival. They are supplements that Will prevent your ears

The ear plugs sound good, I will look into those. And yeah it's best to protect your ears as much as possible. I'll protect my ears when I know or suspect there will be loud music or noise around. I took NAC today and will continue with it along with the magnesium I take. Maybe there will be better treatments as we get older too
