@Sam Marksmen, sounds levels at 40-50 dB does not (for most cases) require ear protection.
It will not cause damage, unless we are talking extreme severe matters.
You may feel annoyed, for sure - depending on type of sound. Which is often very individual.
You may spike at times, or get a minor setback with a lot of noises - but that's also a part of the recovery with hyperacusis/sound sensitivity, imo.
Overprotecting to sound levels that is within your tolerance will slow down the process, and make you temporary more sensitivity.
Just speaking of my own experience.
