Hi all,

I'm 6 months into Bupropion-induced tinnitus. I had no hearing issues prior.

Tinnitus devastated my life. No medical help due to quarantine. I stress ate and gained 13 kg over quarantine: fried foods, sugar, fat, salt, everything.

5ish months in I'm currently having terrible gastritis and as a result had to cut my food intake all the way down. An unintended detox. For 1 month I've been on 300-400 calories daily (too low, I know) and cut all processed foods, sugar, cola etc out. I've lost weight, feel better etc. But it's not changed my tinnitus.

In the early days it was high pitched screaming in both ears, I was desperate and I was trying everything to fix it. I'm posting this for people who are searching for a relief. Not saying detox won't work for you but it did not work for me.

Did you get spikes when eating bad stuff? Like sugar, caffeine and all that?

My first thought is that cutting back on food is not as healthy as eating the right food. That said, I've noticed that food typically plays a fairly insignificant role with my tinnitus. Good for you for changing your diet but it's time to increase your calorie intake and eat healthier foods. Good luck.

What is it now?
6ish months in. Left ear stopped.
Right ear is constant whine/hiss much quieter.

EDIT: Just realised my message isn't that clear.
I've had tinnitus for over 6 months now.
Initially in both ears a screaming high frequency. Now it's a quieter hiss ring in just the right ear.

I'm grateful for the improvement.

Hi, yes I agree. Hoping as the gastritis eases off it will be easier to increase calories!

It ought to continue to improve!
