Hello again...

Today I went outside on a somewhat friend/family meeting without protection again...
People were very loud and I think I got exposed to loud noise outside but there was no music in the meeting. I am very scared that my tinnitus might become worse permanently because of my ignorance.

I always skip wearing protection in certain places because I think it wont be too bad but it always fires back. Should I look to take some medications after being in loud places or maybe it wont be that bad?

I have the exact same fear as you, and I keep making the same mistake with going to places where I'll think it will be fine, but then it turns out that it's not. Maybe it's best to learn that one should always carry around a pair of earplugs just in case.

We can do everything in our power, to protect our ears. it does not 100% guarantee that our tinnitus will not spike or one day get louder. I understand your fear, you should protect your ears.

Do your best to take care of yourself and your ears. That's all you can do, don't think about tomorrow. Do everything you can to enjoy TODAY and protect your ears today. Life happens, sometimes accidents happen, we don't have full control of everything.

I use to fear tomorrow as well and what the future may hold. Now, I simply do my best to make my DAYS count and make them productive. I let tomorrow be tomorrow and that's that....

Stress/anxiety is one of the main triggers that will afflict the tinnitus and annoy it. try to relax a bit and reduce your stress as much as you can. We live in a stressful world, I get it.....we can still do things to reduce it just a little.

Take care :)

After I had similar experiences, I began protecting my ear (i.e., wearing earplugs and/or Peltor muffs) whenever I was outside of my home. I never looked back. My H and T began to improve. You have to learn from your own mistakes. You could also learn from the mistakes made by others - there are countless posts on this forum that seem to confirm that protecting your ears when you are at this vulnerable stage is the way to go.
