First Post, and Some Release...

Hey @Lane , thanks for the castor oil update, it's frustrating how much trial and error is involved with something like this. I agree, probably best to take a little break from it, until you're absolutely certain.

I read your mHBOT post with fascination, I haven't dabbled in that side of healing tech yet, because of the price. I think you're pretty brave for taking out a loan on it, and your intention to eventually help others (and pay it off) at a lower cost than the clinics is pretty awesome. I have dabbled in oxygenation back in the day, through 35% hydrogen peroxide in distilled water. You have to heavily dilute it, because at 35%, it can cause damage from direct exposure. But since reading your post, I decided to look into it again, and got myself a more stabilized form of liquid hydrogen drops. It was $20 on Amazon, can't go wrong with trying it out: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B004IJHHL4/ Honestly, I can feel its effects, and I'm fairly certain it's not placebo, since I've been experimenting with supplements / treatments for many years. It seems to have better absorption (and is much safer) than the unstable form of peroxide. Anyway, still testing it out. Our environment these days is so low in oxygen, so supplementing with it definitely helps. You brought up mHBOT to me for a reason, and I appreciate that.

Thanks for sharing the details of your journey in that other post. Man, what a harrowing experience, I can't even imagine. I'm glad you made it through to the other side (even if the other side is just another form of purgatory, haha) and have a laser focus on healing yourself now. It angers me, how ototoxic drugs are just flying around out there, and you never really know, unless you do your research, which most people don't do until it's too late. Your story gave me hope, because even after something like that, you're here with the rest of us, in decent spirits, exchanging info, fighting the good fight. We are quite resilient, I've learned that about myself as well, through my T / H ups and downs. I hope you've been well lately. Strangely, my T is a tad quieter today, so I'm remaining grateful for that.

@Lane And I know, oxygen drops don't hold a candle to the saturation / penetration of a mHBOT machine, not even close, but you have me thinking about oxygen again. I might even get myself one of those fingertip meters.

oxygen drops don't hold a candle to the saturation / penetration of a mHBOT machine

The only oxygen drops product I've ever tried (and really liked) was one called CELL FOOD. I've been meaning to give it a try again, and see if I notice as many benefits as I did before starting mHBOT. I'm curious whether things have changed things to the point where I don't notice as much difference.

Re: those fingertip meters. When I went to a local HBOT clinic and got my first 10 sessions, they always checked my oxygen levels before I got into it (not exactly sure why). My readings were always high, and in the normal range. This is apparently the case with most people. Perhaps something to consider before shelling out money on something that may not have all that much information to offer.

@mattryp ,

Hello, I have stumbled upon this thread. I am so disappointed to read about your experience with PEMF, as it was one of the few alternative treatments left that I intended to try. You seem like you have a decent grasp of yourself and analysation of your own body, and I do not think I will be exploring PEMF unless I learn something different.

I would like to say that I am acquainted with a few of the posters here, and I may have spouted this elsewhere, so forgive me if I am being redundant, but if you are interested in Oxygen, I have had some success with taking the edge off of my symptom by utilizing an oxygen concentrator. Initially, I utilized one at home with a long cannula (as to be further from the humming of the machine), and 3 LPMs for about 45 minutes to an hour session. This was about 9 months in to my symptom onset, and I had begun LLLT at 50 mW by around month 5. I believe that ATEOS had both laser and oxygen therapy in tandem while he was at a stem cell clinic in Bangkok, so this was affirmation for me when I began to experience some improvement. I had fleeting tinnitus or "ear resets" almost immediately, which I believe most of us have learned to associate with healing, greater perceptivity of sound texture, and some general lessening of symptoms.

Unfortunately, I have written several classical piano pieces in the recent past, and my onset was at the height of my composition; putting the pieces to paper is an extensive process, and while protected by both muffs and plugs, I ration time to my music. I continue to damage my ears this way, but I constantly gamble damage because I will lose my creations; my brain is turning to mush. Regardless, I think that most people do not have this issue, and are able to provide some more consistent protection for their ears, and that if they were to experience some benefits from oxygen, perhaps they would be less fleeting. I do think that LLLT in tandem with the oxygen is essential for the progress in which I'm remarking.

At month 14 of injury, I still find slow healing. After I had reinjured the initial progress from LLLT and oxygen, I began to try Acetylcysteine, as suggested by my friend @SoundB0und, and moved my oxygen therapy up to 5 LPM for 50 minutes during vigorous cardio. My chiropractor (who is versatile relating to naturopathy and PEMF) suggested that I do cardio so as to compensate for the very poor oto-vascular infrastructure. Again I saw improvement, and I began to literally time the handful of precious minutes I could spend with my piano as to prevent further reinjury. Recently, I have been able to take out my muffs and my plugs while eating, and perhaps even hold a low volume conversation for about twenty minutes without protection. My own voice irritates my ears less; it is amazing how much these small victories can do for the psyche. I know it is only a matter of time before I will attempt to dump music from my mind, and I will be back in the pits of despair, while ironically liberated by the self-exertion and emotional profundity, though for now I will savor the reprieve of sanity.

Regarding oxygen, I will pass on this link that my friend @Lane shared with me, I have found it very interesting:

Currently I am looking in to MSCs and PRP; I can find very little on PRP in association with the ears, though I have read some promising things. I feel like we need a much wider community effort on this subject, and would encourage others to explore this option, and also to please broadcast any information that they come across.
