Hi all,

First post here.

So, I've had few bouts with a very weird "fleeting tinnitus/fullness". It's a full sensation in ear that comes suddenly and makes sounds a bit distorted for about an hour or so, then it disappears and returns to normal.

I just had one in my left ear. Basically my ear went suddenly full with weird reactive tinnitus so that whenever I rubbed my ear, it would ring in a certain frequency (which I measured around 3 kHz).

Also the 3 kHz tone was slightly higher in my fleeting left ear compared to right (Dysacusis?)

I've had Sudden Sensorineural Hearing Loss 2 years back, but recovered 100%. These fleeting episodes I have like once in few months switching ears, like mini SSHL, but not quite.

Any thoughts/experiences with something like this?

Thanks very much!

Anybody else had anything close to this? Been really anxious today. I had the same thing again just a few hours ago in my other ear, though lasted only a minute or so.

Hey palm,

I am new to the forum and have been experiencing similar bouts as the ones you describe. The feeling is almost deaf but it's more of a feeling than a sound for me. The fullness and lack of blood flow feeling is how I could describe it.

Was wondering if this is what you are/were experiencing and if not - did it go away?

Stay safe.

Hey, yeah exactly. Feeling of "fullness" definitely comes with it. How long were your "episodes"? Also how often do you get them and how are you doing now?

I actually have been diagnosed with lyme disease since posting this thread so I'm now on treatment for that. It seems like this symptom for me is also caused by the infection.

The bouts I'm having now are probably 70-80% less severe as I've been on the treatment for 7 months. Hoping for a total recovery at some point but improvement with chronic infection like this is slow.

Hi! Sorry to hear about your Lyme's. I know a handful of people who have it - interestingly enough it seems more common now.

The frequency of my bouts are anywhere from 2x a day to 7x per day. It's more frustrating than anything because of the uncontrollable anxiety that comes along with it. I've noticed the episodes are not terrible but they do stop me in my tracks.

Today I had one while walking 2 miles. I looked down and bam - left ear started ringing with fullness and almost deaf feeling for 6 seconds.

I had an extensive amount of bloodwork done not too long ago and everything was fine except for my ANA was positive (autoimmune antibodies) - it was a medium titer but a normal pattern (2 doctors told me not to worry about it too much... of course...)

I will go for more tests but I believe the issue is either circulatory or something wrong with my cervical spine.

WHO KNOWS! Stay safe & be well.
