For Last 10 Days Hearing Ringing in My Ear. Is This Tinnitus?

From last Saturday (18th Jan 2014), sound started in one of my ear after couple of days i can feel other ear also. I watched a movie and back to home that day, night i can listen the sound. Also i feel one of my ear sensitive to some sounds. Did my audio and ENT check, they said its normal. Just wait for some time and come back... Is this normal????

Could be temporary. It's not permanent until you've had it for over 6 months non-stop. Just stay away from further exposing your ears to loud sound. Good luck. Dont panic.

Thanks for the reply TomT, it made me happy. I am planning to travel Asia next month first week from US, is it safe to go with this ear sound??

Yes flying should not be a problem.

Thanks erik for reply. So flying is safe, do i need to take any precautions during flying, since it is total 24hours (2 flights)

Those are long flights! I have flown a few times and never had any issues. If you are someone who has ear pressure issues in general when flying, you can try something like Ear Planes which helps relieve pressure from flying. I have never had any issues like that before or after T. I know some people use noise cancelation headphones when flying and it helps them.

The only precautions you need to take: No liquids over 4oz, no sharp objects

I saw a post from someone yesterday on this website, telling a newcomer to use Magnesium, B12, Zinc, calcium, omega 3, and antioxidant of some sort. I looked this up to find out that you have more chance of these working if the onset of tinnitus is recent though, so can't promise anything, but if I had known sooner I would have tried this. Hopefully someone else has some more success stories to share with us about this.

Hi Maithe, I am back to US after 3 weeks abroad trip. I used noise cancellation headphones and flight journey was good. While going i was worried but no issues, return journey i sleep lot around 14hours in total 24hours flight. Overall trip was good, during my stay abroad, i forgot about my tinnitus most of the time, but after coming to US, i started feeling again, may be because of busy 3weeks trip i didnt concentrat much on the sound.
