These donations help us keep the podcast afloat, and create bigger, better, more creative episodes at even higher quality.

Thank you!

@Hazel I have been donating to just Tinnitus Hub/Tinnitus Talk knowing the money will be used where needed. And in special cases one time donations, like towards your recent trip for Tinnitus Hub.

Is it possible to include a one time donation for the Tinnitus Talk Podcast? Some people will probably donate to that particular tier.

You have been one of the most generous donors to us, thank you!

No, the service provider, Patreon, currently does not offer an option for one-off donations. And it probably never will because its purpose is to offer creators of various media recurring income.

It is - as always - possible to make one-off donations to Tinnitus Hub in general, which will go to variety of costs like server fees, software subscriptions, and projects like our videos.

With regard to the podcast, we were hoping to generate a reliable, recurring income, which helps us to plan for the future (however modest the income might be).

@Hazel Happy to help. Wish I could contribute more.

This podcast will help give Tinnitus Talk more "authority" on the issue over time. The more informational content we create, the better for the community it is as a whole!

We now have 5 Patreon supporters!!!

Wow, I never expected this :D

New episode coming out soon... on stem cell research!

Done, will make sure to skip that one cup of coffee per month :)
That's very awesome of you, thanks bud.

I also want to thank @serhiy1, @Bambam0, @ChrisBoyMonkey, @Deamon22 (and the three others who want to remain anonymous). (y)

@Jack Straw - the world's most insightful and entertaining podcast host ever, a title shamelessly given by yours truly - came up with an idea where those supporting the podcast via Patreon are granted a badge saying so.

As I write this, we're prepping our next episode, which should be out later this week. It's a pretty good one even if I say so myself, covering cutting edge stem cell research.

Thanks for everyone's support - as always.

:thankyousign:

Looks so cool... now I want it!

Great idea, Jack! And indeed, even though all of us spend numerous hours - unpaid - on the podcast, we should additionally support it with our own personal funds, too!

Which we now did. I, @Hazel and @Jack Straw became Patrons, so as of this writing the tally increased from 8 to 11 Patrons.

Together we can set an example and make a difference - hopefully others will join us. :huganimation:

Wow, we got three more patron supporters in the past few days! I guess episode 5 made an impression :)

Two of the new supporters are unknown to us, they might or might not be Tinnitus Talk members, so I've emailed them a thank you.

The third one is our very own @Autumnly - thanks a million!!! :)

If you are enjoying the podcast series and can spare a couple of bucks a month to support it then please consider it. It really can be done by just skipping one sandwich or coffee a month and it helps spread awareness of our condition.

Cheers you awesome people :beeranimation:

Sure. It's GOOD.

Over the past week, we've gained over a dozen new supporters, which means that 35 people are now financially supporting the Tinnitus Talk Podcast! This includes a new "Super Patron" namely @zhiyuan who has been wonderfully generous.

:thankyousign:

Thank you to all our supporters, current and future ones, big and small, we value any amount!

Because of the level of support now achieved, we can now aspire to new levels of professionalism. We'll be able to outsource some of the repetitive non-creative work, which allows us to focus on the creative process and put out more better content more frequently. We will also be able to purchase professional recording equipment, for a better listening experience.

We are also looking into new and more engaging formats for our episodes, like having multiple shorter segments under a common theme, or doing a round table discussion. These formats take more time and effort than your straightforward one-on-one interview, but with the experience we've now gained and your support, we should be able to do it.

Remember also that you can enter any new ideas for future episodes here.

This is really great news! Drinks all around lol :)

So far I have been making one time donations via Donorbox, but I would like to become a Podcast Patron too, however I am bit confused by the Podcast Patreon tiers and forum badges.

On Patreon the "Benefactor" tier is described as You will get the "Benefactor" tag on your Tinnitus Talk account if you didn't already have one. Okay, so this is the same badge I got with Donorbox, but which tier is giving "Podcast Patron" badge?

@Hazel, maybe this could be described explicitly on Patreon?

It's slightly confusing, yes. We will word it better.

You will get the Podcast Patron badge at any level, so even at the $2/month level. I have now added it to you already :)

If you - or anyone else - by the way have any suggestions or ideas for the levels & the associated perks, we are all ears.

Thanks very much for your support!

Happy to have joined the Patreon team here.

Each contribution matters I guess.

I just cancelled my Spotify subscription since I can't listen to music anymore.

Better for this tiny amount to be spent here instead.

That's awesome, and thank you!

Our next episode (Bionics Institute) is coming out within the week, and we will also be releasing some Patreon-only bonus content, so stay tuned :)

Hello Tinnitus Talk Podcast listeners!

Today we released the first episode of a Patreon-only video series called Ask an Expert.

As the title suggests, these are short videos where an expert answers a burning question from an audience member about tinnitus. The first one answers the question: "Are tinnitus and PTSD related?"

mark-thumbnail.png

If you would like to see the Ask an Expert videos, you'll need to become a Patreon supporter, which you can do for as little as 2 dollars per month! (And you can cancel any time.) This also allows you to submit questions for future Ask an Expert episodes, and be involved in content creation in other ways. You will get other benefits too, like access to video versions of our last 5-6 podcast episodes, and more bonus content that's only accessible for Patreons.
