Free of Tinnitus. Or Winning the Lottery?

i would gladly fore go a multi million dollar lottery payday in exchange for being healthy

tinnitus is one of three big health problems im struggling with...

ok id pay the millions to just be free from T ...it just crazy

but id want a guarantee ;)

There was a time when I would have given EVERYTHING to be rid of tinnitus. Things are not so bad now. I would probably take the 40 mil and donate a bunch to T research and then travel and party like rock star.

Oh me to any day and I haven't had it as long as some of you guys, people who have never suffered with this don't realize how lonely this can be to be healthy is so much more important to me than money

I would definitely take the money, well my tinnitus is gone now anyways so maybe that's why I would take the 40 mill..
What's your story?

Tinnitus for a couple of years, how did it go away? Did you have any treatments or did it just go on its own?

Years ago i would have said i would have liked to be free of tinnitus at all costs. Now i would take the money, make some accomodations for myself and my dear parents, then i would give to the ATA's special fund for research. I would also put money aside for when mr De Nora will be bored of financing his excellent Tinnitus Research Initiative.

Thats a hard one to answer. First I would choose to have the silence back for good, but its hard to find those genie bottles ;). But If I did win the money I would hire 4 of the brightest doctors in the T field and personally fund there research to finding a cure.

I asked myself the question what would make me happier winning 40 million on the lottery or have no tinnitus. I would probably choose the quieter life.
me too... no doubt about it.. just to have peace and quiet would be the best thing ever to happen to me...

thats is such a true statement the alone feeling even when you are surrounded by a lot of people and they have no idea what is going on inside your ears or head and you try to act normal.. it is so very hard sometimes.. i wish i could just scream sometimes HELP ME.. THIS NOISE IS DRIVING ME IN SAIN.... but they have no idea of the suffering we are dealing with... so so hard..

no money in the world could compare to the getting rid of the dredded T... I COULD THINK OF NOTHING MORE BEAUTIFUL THAN HAVEING THE SOUND OF SILENCE...

40 million vs. my tinnitus? I'd take the $40,000,000.

There are a lot of things involved in that question. For instance, I would pay $100,000 to get rid of my tinnitus. But I would need guarantees. And if the tinnitus came back, I'd want more than just my money back. IMO it would be a cruel trick otherwise.

What is it they say? Money is fungible. You can convert it into anything. And personally, I'm not even sure one single human life is worth $40M. You know, a moral philosophy would go presumably beyond the individual, and the power of $40M would go way past me or you. Well, for most of us.

P.S. I don't think of moral philosophy as something to denote an innate sense of good or bad. I don't know what it is. I guess moral philosophy is more like what do I want out of life?

With 40 million, I could live with less stress and that could perhaps help in recovery even after donating most of it to charitable causes. I'll probably feel super isolated from others due to the big gap in financial status though.:sorry:...

I would take the money and develop a research company that works on only tinnitus. I would hire the top neuroscientists, Ear specialists, etc, and that's all they would do. With millions of dollars and all the resources they need to test and reserach, it would not take long.

I would take no tinnitus and living on very little money over winning the lottery. Just to be back to how I was, free of T worry, T stress and of course T NOISE, that is the most important to me. I'd run out shouting at the sky 'I'm free' and I'd hugely appreciate the things I took FOR GRANTED before.

Also, once a treatment was found, millions of people would get the treatment for cost or below cost or free... as long as the money didn't run out! ) Once you help yourself, then you can help others! The airlines tell you that for when the plane drops the oxygen masks - put the oxygen on first then help your children.

Remember - should you win the lottery one day, you can always count on me :D Share some with me and the gap you speak of will be lower.

I think choosing a quiet life would be a bit selfish. I'd take 40 millions and make the world a better place :)

I asked my self the question what would make me happier winning 40 Millon on the lottery or have no Tinnitus. I would probably choose the quieter life
That's easy. No amount of money would be better than being free from T. I have sometimes wondered if me getting T is some sort of a life test and that I will some day wake up without it - then I would hug every tree and be humble as never before. A true life lover. This thing gives me perspective.

I would choose to be rid of my T. I hate to think that the ringing in my ears is the last thing I will hear before I die. (I'm morbid I know.)

Two months ago I would have taken the money, because back then I could handle my T quite well. Now, since it's gotten a bit worse, I'd probably opt for the silence... (and the rest of the qualities of life that come with healthy ears.)

I would take Dollars then never think about T anymore because I'm so happy. And spend 10 Million Dollar to make Tinnitus people around the world gathering and make T Day, many government would notice more about that and spend more money for research along with another health science :))))

I'm improved but would still opt to be T and H free. I'm aware that I'm damaged now and liable to slip back at any time. I would take the confidence to go normal places and events without any T or H in exchange for all the money in the world. The peace of mind I gave lost through this is worth more than money. And knowing that if I had won the lottery the money could not buy me silence and there was no doctor in the world I could pay to help me.
