God Doesn't Exist. Well If He Did... He Would Help Me Bring to Justice the Person Who Assaulted Me

What would you do to obtain justice against the person who caused you tinnitus?

  • Seek legal justice... where and how in a third world country like Mexico?

  • Two eyes for an eye... let's all go blind.

  • Seek international justice... where?

  • Come out with an original response... I'd love to hear it since God doesn't seem to answer my call.

Cause of Tinnitus
Acoustic Trauma - (idiot yelled straight into my ear)
God doesn't exist. Well if he did, he would help me bring to justice the person who assaulted by yelling directly into my ear with his hands cupped around it. Hence, causing me Tinnitus, Hyperacusis, Insomnia, Eustachian Tube Dysfunction, and a perpetual feeling of fullness and discomfort of the ear into which he yelled.

I have all sorts of evidence, yet the legal system in México is next to nonexistent. I can identify this person.

I will swallow my words if God would help bring this criminal to justice. But I guess you don't exist right? Glad I never invested in believing in such fairy tales.

Are you sure you have Eustachian Tube Dysfunction? I recently bought something called a Eustachi. It is a device that blows air up your nose while allowing you to close your mouth and swallow some water. This pops both my ears, I believe by opening the Eustachian tubes. You may want to research it and then talk to a pharmacist or someone to see if it would be okay for you to use if you are interested.

The only two places here locally that I have seen it is at Target and CVS.

@ChristopherD - I feel so desperately sorry about what happened to you Chris.
Since first reading your story, it has occurred to me, and bothered me time and time again.
I know that doesn't help you at all, but I so feel for you my friend.
My own damage was caused by an inconsiderate musician, who played too loud and too close.
Yes.....he was a complete EFFING ARSE'OLE !!!
So....like you....I am forced into management.
So sad for both of us.
Very Best Wishes,
I wish I could do more,

Jazzer x

PS - does God actually exist?
Personally - I very much doubt it !

It's kinda hard to believe in God with a tormenting noise in your head. Too many people young and old suffering from debilitating afflictions. And the animal kingdom has it worse than us. I hope I have a good day soon and have a better outlook.

People who have had something terrible happen to them, generally have an (earned) sense of deep anger -- at the perpetrator, if the harm was caused externally, or at themselves.

I'm terribly sorry for what happened to you, @ChristopherD -- it's awful, and the person who did it is awful. However, as an armchair psychologist -- finding a way to channel and work through your rage, is more likely to be helpful to you, than any act of vengeance. Vengeance generally "doesn't work":

https://www.psychologytoday.com/blog/pieces-mind/201309/revenge-will-you-feel-better

The results showed that the students who got revenge reported feeling worse than those who didn't, but believed they would have felt even worse if they hadn't gotten back at the free riders. The students who didn't get the opportunity for revenge said they thought they would feel better if they'd had that opportunity, even though the survey results identified them as the happier group. Both groups thought revenge would be sweet, but their own reported feelings showed that revenge made them less happy.

https://www.nytimes.com/2015/02/08/sunday-review/the-futility-of-vengeance.html
But the thing is, when people take it upon themselves to exact revenge, not only does it fail to prevent future harm but it also ultimately doesn't make the avenger feel any better. While they may experience an initial intoxicating rush, research indicates that upon reflection, people feel far less satisfied after they take revenge than they imagined.

Rather than inflicting suffering, it turns out that what victims really want is remorse from the person who wronged them, along with a heartfelt apology, which includes a promise to reform and rectify the situation as much as possible. Ironically, such reconciliation is far less likely after a vengeful act.

Your legal situation sounds relatively simple, insofar as it doesn't sound like there's anything you can do. Your spiritual situation is much harder and thornier, but my intuition is that spending time actively wishing malice and harm on others, even those who "deserve" it, is not helping you.

My own beliefs about "God" are probably not interesting to many here, just because I don't really believe in free will in the Biblical sense which makes the idea of Judgement seem pretty shaky. But, on that note, the lack of free will on behalf of your assailant is an interesting question -- here is an essay which explores these issues, in the context of violent criminals who did something even worse than what this asshole did to you: https://www.samharris.org/blog/item/the-illusion-of-free-will

I've got a friend who blames God for everything everybody that goes wrong in her life, and it makes her really miserable. Questions of cosmic justice are unanswerable, but personally that kind of deity doesn't make any sense to me at all. Forget God and Justice, deal with the tinnitus first if possible.

@ChristopherD, @linearb,
.....I don't believe in god (hence the small g).
Just you try to find him?
I have truly tried - to no avail.
(He never writes - he never phones.)
For me - he simply does not exist.
I do believe in good kind people, as we frequently find on here - thank god. (Oops.)
I wish there was some help for us all, and Christopher, you are so often on my mind.
I know it doesn't help, but if I ever get hold of a magic wand, you will be the first one up.
Best wishes my friend.
Dave xx

@ChristopherD ,
I'm sorry this happened to you and I understand the anger. Bringing justice to this person wouldn't change your ear problems now but it might serve as a deterrent to other people. I don't think there is enough awareness about this. Did he know that he would be inflicting this kind of serious damage to you? Was it just stupidity?
It is unfortunate that Mexico doesn't have a better legal system. I hope you can set aside some of the anger though. If you have no legal recourse, then the anger will just weigh you down.

God is spirit and all around us.
Michael, I should write a little more respectfully.
At times of huge distress I tried so hard to reach god, without knowing whether he even existed or not.
I prayed constantly, full of tears.
I didn't really expect to hear a voice, but what I hoped for was a feeling of "Presence."
Nothing ever happened of course.
I gave it my best shot.

Write how you feel @Jazzer I will not hold anything against you. Certain things have happened in my life which I will not go into, that makes me believe there is a superior being or spirit that oversees everything. Why certain things happen in this world or people suffer I haven't the answer for it is beyond my understanding.

In my opinion we have all been told many false truths.
Hmmm... Interesting... coming from you, that is. Would it be a stretch to say that you have been part of, ahem, shall we say fabricating a universe of, well – for a lack of a better term – "false truths"?

I know for sure someone is watching over me and that was before my parents died.
I have felt a presence around me along with a touch of their love on me and a feeling of comfort. (My nan)
Do I belive in God ?
I think seeing the good in everything is the god inside us....my view only ..
I know my parents walk beside me everyday .
Love glynis

God is spirit and all around us. If you believe as so called science would like us to, that we appeared out of thin air or by evolution then I don't believe that for a moment. Just as I don't believe we are living on a rotating ball....

Can you please give me a more detailed reason why you believe the Earth is flat and why you reject evolution?

You must have your reasons...

@Contrast

Yes I do have my reasons but I know what the reaction will be if I mention them here. All I am prepared to say, is science is lies mixed with the truth. If you want the truth it is in front of you just open your eyes.

Take care
Michael

People should be free to voice their opinions about religions. Just because one person doesn't believe in God or believes, we shouldn't be offended. I believe and I am not at all offended by such threads :)

I'm just intrigued to know more about why you believe the Earth is not a globe, or reject the theory of evolution.

Could you point out where the lies are, so I can see them for myself?

No convincing on my part will make you see the light. All I will say is have an open mind and then you will see the lies for yourself.

Yes I do. In my opinion we have all been told many false truths. The conditioning starts the moment we enter the classroom as children, and shown a globe and told this is where we live.

Are you about to start to telling us to open our third eye? People who believe in conspiracy theories only believe in them because they have invested time into cultivating and understanding the falsehoods and therefore have a hard time letting go once they confronted with the gact they are wrong. Also what I find really interesting is that Michael has created his own conspiracy theory about reactive tinnitus being hyperacusis. And as for God he doesn't care about us if he exists, I mean look at the immense amount of suffering in the world.
