Cause of Tinnitus
Loud music (so I'm told)
when my tinnitus got worse in Feb 15 I started to experience numbness in my face. My tinnitus in mainly in my left ear. So I started to experience that my left ear lobe, cheek and the area around my left eye would go numb. But since my tinnitus spiked in Apr 15 I no longer experience that. Wondering if someone has had the same experience and what it might mean?

I had numbness in my face and head pressure this past February... 3 days prior to gettin T... After that I had 2 more episodes of the same where my face, right side will go numb and the T got louder ... Very loud.. I was diagnosed with Bell's palsy and occipital neuralgia ... So
I'm familiar with that feeling .. Don't know if your case is the same as mine..

The ENT specialists I consulted maintained that my tinnitus was caused by loud noise (read my introduction post). They basically ignored my questions on the numbness. But you have given me something to think on. Thank you.

It's a pretty bad doctor who ignores you saying you have numbness in your face! Even if it's not related to the T it shouldn't be ignored.m see someone else to find out why you have this numbness.

That came with my H. Seems to be the trigeminal nerve is triggered.

Ignored your question on facial numbness? Man that is wild!!

Must of been a typical ENT then.

Anyways I still say tri nerve. If it's gone, dont worry about it.

Protect your ears.

Hi Any update from your end on this ? I also have tingling and numbness on my face and the T seems to be related to that. I spoke to a leading T researcher in Michigan University (Dr. Susan Shore) and she feels its due to the trigeminal nerv3e on my face, and treating that could treat my T.

Did you get better or is your T gone, any medications that helped you ?

Thanks, Mita

Patrick,
Exactly the same this happened to me, for the three months leading up to my first bout with tinnitus I had numbness in my cheekbones and temples that lasted for hours sometimes. Then on Jan 2 2016 tinnitus sets in for the first time in my life. Of course at the time I did not know what tinnitus was. It's been seven months now that I've lived with tinnitus and I have not had a creek numbness episode since Jan 2. It's hard to rule out that they are unrelated. Ive got really good tinnitus treatment ear-aids (like hearing aids but little white noise makers that drown out the ringing and replace it with what I like to refer to as the sound of "the wind in Hawaii " to make myself feel better. They cost $7000. Made in Germany of course. Best $7000 I ever spent, it's the only thing that keeps me sane until I can train my mind to ignore it.

What make/model are they?
