I had my teeth cleaned recently, took NAC, and brought earmuffs, although I had to take them off since I couldn't turn my head in the chair. I made sure they didn't use ultrasonic equipment.
I apparently have a couple of small cavities, which the dentist states should be addressed. Due to the earmuff issue, I plan to wear earplugs and think it is better to have some hearing protection despite the "occlusion" effect.
I need to know what kind of drugs I can ask the dentist to prescribe me before the procedure even starts to help protect myself. I was thinking of Prednisone since that seems to be a go-to. I already explained my issue to him that I have tinnitus from acoustic trauma. I want to present information to him about obtaining a small prescription. The worst they can say is no; I have never heard of anyone abusing Prednisone... Do you think it's a good idea? What dosage/mg should I ask for?
