Going Under the Knife Tomorrow

I must have misunderstood you. I thought you were going to call them today. Nevertheless, try to stay positive. God wont let you down. I promise. - dg
No you understood, I called and they said they'll tell me on the 14th cause he can explain it better in person. I'll just have to wait, something I'm not good at but I'll have to get good at. In mean time I will try to stay positive. Thanks again dgray.

10-4. I just want you to be relaxed, calm and without anxiety. Selfishly, the more I can be of help/comfort to my fellow man/woman - the more I believe the Lord will bless me in my trials and current discomfort. I prayed today for you brother - God Bless you and yours.

Ent called back, said he was very happy with how the surgery went. The cholesteatoma had pushed the tiny bones apart. He reconnected them and said that if everything goes the way he thinks it will, I will have my hearing back and not even need a hearing aid. Starting to have some faith and hope back in me.

Excellent news Jake007. I will keep praying for you brother

how are you doing today

Hi @Jake007 I'm wondering how your ENT concluded that this surgery would help you. Is your hearing loss and t only in one ear? What was the diagnosis you got prior to surgery?
P.S 1 week to go! hooray!

I suspect your t may go down by the silence caused by the bandage. If that is true, then I will be very interested to know! I have surgerically removed cholesteatoma three times and must visit ENT at least twice a year to clean up ear wax with microsuction. Cause me some dizziness. But I wouldn't consider doing another surgery just because of that, or to restore my hearing. But maybe if your surgery was that successful I may rethink. For me cholesteatoma is a lifelong condition.

They had to remove a cholesteatoma, and said that he fixed my conductive losses. The past couple weeks have been brutal savagery. So far one ear but it's floating over to my good ear sometimes.

I'm hoping if he fixed some hearing t will be reduced some. I had Microsuction done once and made me dizzy to. I was lucky he could do both in one surgery. I will let everyone know what happens when the packing comes out, but I'm sure it will still take time to heal so we'll see.

Stay strong @Jake007 ,
Fingers crossed all will be well when your packing is out....
Staying positive for you...lots of love glynis

Having massive spikes that wake me up and can't fall back asleep. It's not going good right now at all.

Hang in there Jake, everyone is rooting for you. I'm really sad to hear that it's not going well, but give yourself more time. Time is the greatest healer of all.

Indeed. Especially for the ear. Ears take very long time to heal.

What do I do about getting a good 6 to 8 hours sleep

I don't wanna get stuck on pills but I gotta do something, next to little or no sleep past 3 days

You probably need to ask for some sedative (Anxiety) drugs to get you through the short term. You will be able to sleep, but that's only a short term fix. Benzos are not really my thing, but as a last resort, if you're suffering, then you might need to take something.

@Jake007 You're very brave to take this leap and I hope you soon see some improvement. I've found sound therapy (quiet music at low volume) helpful for getting back to sleep.

If I wake up, there is no going back to sleep now matter what I listen to or what volume it is at. I will not become dependant on benzos. Thank you for your support in really need and appreciate it a lot.

Jake007: I'm praying for your peace and speedy recovery. God Bless
Thank you Douglas, this is very difficult. I appreciate all your prayers and think about them a lot. I wish you relief as well my friend.
