Hey, guys!:)

These days I got a new problem, and I want to ask for your help: there is some air conditioning equipment near my apartment, so I can hear they are working every night. They usually sound like hum which is very low and deep. It is okay for me. I wear my earplugs every night (also because I live near the street).

But these nights they (or other machines, who knows) made some high pitch sounds. I wore my earplugs but I could still feel these high pitch sounds were piercing my earplugs and running into my brain!

And here is the weirdest thing: the machines stopped working but I can still hear the high pitch sound! It will last for a long while until I fall asleep.:arghh:

I don't know what to do... Did you experience this before?

Thanks for your consideration.

Better to use noise reducing earplugs that have filters built-in and try not to use them too often.
Thanks for your reply,Monsieur.I don't know if this can be a noise reducing earplugs...I am sorry I have no idea of the difference between foam one and noise reducing one

@Greg Sacramento
Thanks!Fortunately,the high pitch sounds of air conditioning has gone.Do you think I can regard the low sound they make as a kind of white noise?
And my DB Meter App Shows that the average DB is 30. I guess it's Ok.

@ChineseHazel The reason why air conditioner installers use to get tinnitus was from the old form of freon called CFC 11 or R-11. Home air conditioning does not show up on home appliance decimal lists as a concern for those with tinnitus. Not sure, but it may just a good source for white noise.

I guess my other post of on this was confusing. Take care, my friend.
